How much of the Army was really militia?

Most of the American effort in WW1 (I know it wasn't called that then) were 'militia' (NG, reserves)....but then, that may just be propaganda!

After they were federalized in 1910(?)and came under federal law they were not militias.

Militias are of the people.

But you keep grabbing at those straws.....
