Proving just how important Barack Obamas new rumor-busting Web site could be, a Tennessee Democratic Party member told a local newspaper that the presumptive nominee of his party may be terrorist connected.

Appears as though the GOP channeled this racist smear via Hobbs. See below.
Update: Wade Munday, the flack for the Tennessee Democratic Party, blames Fred Hobbs’ casual racism on—wait for it—Republicans. Here’s his statement:
The Tennessee Democratic Party is united behind our partys nominee, Senator Barack Obama. Mr. Hobbs is obviously misinformed, and his statement highlights the perpetual efforts of the Republican Party, especially here in Tennessee, to turn internet smears and highly offensive gossip into their partys message against Senator Barack Obama as we head into the General Election. Instead of debating the issues, the Tennessee Republican Party continues to rely upon slanderous and salacious tall tales. They are borrowing from the playbook first written by Richard Nixon and employed in the race against Congressman Harold Ford Jr. Tennesseans of every political persuasion are tired of these tactics.

Where’s the Rove Weather Machine these days?
There are a lot of states (TN included) that are going to go for McCain in a major way. My guess is McCain wins TN & KY for example by 15-20 points. He won’t even show up in those states just like the primaries.
Lincoln Davis wants to be Governor of TN in 2010 and he knows Obama is going to lose this state — in fact, if McCain wins, Davis, if he gets the nomination, will have an excellent shot at succeeding Bredesen — but if Obama is President, Republicans will make considerable gains in 2010 and Davis will lose. Junior Ford may run against Davis for the office in 2010, so that is going to be a potentially ugly primary.
I agree.
While suturing a cut on the hand of a 75 year old Texas rancher, whose hand was caught in a gate while working cattle, the doctor struck up a conversation with the old man.
Eventually the topic got around to Obama and his bid to be our President.
The old rancher said, 'Well, ya know, Obama is a 'post turtle'."
Not being familiar with the term, the doctor asked him, "what's a 'post turtle'? The old rancher replied, "When you're driving down a country road and you come across a fence post with a turtle balanced on top, that's a 'post turtle'."
The old rancher saw a puzzled look on the doctor's face, so he continued to explain.
"You know he didn't get up there by himself, he doesn't belong up there, he doesn't know what to do while he is up there, and you just wonder what kind of a dumb ass put him up there!."
