The hyperbole coming out of MSNBC today has been sickening. Peggy Noonan ( the queen of hyperbole) actually said that “America will never be the same.” Think about how rediculous that really is...

Well, she's in the same business Russert was - so she can be forgiven a slightly myopic view of things. It would be uncontroversial to say that American journalism will never be the same.

She is correct, but in ways she never intended.

Tim was a die hard lefty just like most of his cohorts in the mainstream media.

But he was actually more dangerous to America than many others because he came across as reserved and thoughtful instead of as a spitting, out of control lefty dogmatist like Maxine Waters or Howard Dean in their full rabid-dog mode. (!!!REDUNDANCY ALERT!!!)

Consequently, people took Tim seriously instead of tuning him out like more overt liberal operatives with a microphone.

But make no mistake - he used his position to push the liberal agenda just as much as Brian Williams and Keith Duh'O-lbermann, and probably with more effect.

It is not surprising that leftists are sad at this loss - there aren't that many of them who can retain their civility when they see a microphone as Tim did.
They know they have lost one of their most effective communicators.

Peggy Noonan has become increasingly batty through the years, maybe she was always that way and I was just missing it. She seems to believe every flowery phrase that flows from her typewriter or mouth is divinely inspired.

She also wanted to take credit for everything memorable Reagan ever said, as if she was his puppeteer. I sense a lot of narcissism in her every time I see or read her, than again, maybe it’s just me :)
