Rush Limbaugh Statement on Tim Russert's Death
Rush Limbaugh website ^ | June 13, 2008 | rush limbaugh

Posted on 06/13/2008 4:29:16 PM PDT by fkabuckeyesrule

"It's just a shame. Tim was a regular guy with that perpetual smile he wore naturally all the time. He loved life and got everything he could out of it. Whether it was at dinner here in Florida while his son was taking golf lessons, or on the set of Meet The Press, Tim was always the same with me: genuine. He never condescended to anyone and was the consummate professional. He will be hard to replace. He was the closest thing there was at any of the networks to an objective journalist."

It's a pity that when Rush dies (please live a long and even more prosperous life Rush!) there will not be a single member of the MSM which will honor him as he Rush has honored Russert.

I heart just dropped when I learned of this this afternoon. 58 is way too young. Condolences to his family. Although I figure Tim Russert was a left of center kind of guy he seemed like a pretty decent guy.

I just wonder why the press, who always discount and refute what President Bush says as a lie, is now so eager to televise his statements regarding Tim Russart’s death. Also. have you noticed that Hillary has not been invited to his media beatification? Omission? I think not. Even in death, the DBM controls the message.

It seems that everybody that knew Tim liked Tim Rep/Dem.

He was a good family Man and will surely be missed

Q. Will Olberman try to get Meet The press?? This could be the end of NBC :)

When Reagan died, the libs were almost dancing in the streets.

Rush will have it worse. Lefties and liberals are degenerates, have no class, and worthless human scum.

My response to an earlier string on Tim Russert ...

One thing is certain there will be few tears in the Hildabeast camp. Russert did ask tough questions, ‘rats & pubbies both had rough moments when being interviewed by him. As a life long democrat who played a large role in the liberal mainstream media, Russert was by and large fair.

I watched when he moderated the debate in the FL governors race between David Price and Jeb Bush. I expected it to be a 2-on-1, but was pleasantly surprised that he did an excellent, fair job doing it. Price really bombed many questions, and he didn't give him a break. It was one of the more enjoyable debates I have watched.

He hadn't dissed Hillary recently, did he?

When Rush dies there will be nobody left to fill his shoes - all the radio hacks are pretenders riding his tails. For that matter, conservatism will take it’s biggest hit since Rush nearly singel handedly has brought our issues to the fore from the pre-krinton era to the present.

RIP. Russert. You were an honorable foe and usually tried your best to be objective.

If only this were the obit of any other MSM hairball...

Nice and appropriate words. Limbaugh may have read some of Russert’s non-political books from the sound of it - they were very good.

I don’t remember that at all. Well, maybe the DUmmies, but by and large, there were respectful eulogies and remembrances from many of the DBM and the high profile ‘Rats.

I do agree that Rush will have it worse, tho.

Heard on Levine it may be a blood clot related death. He just flew back from Italy last night.

Media Research Center

Tim Russert 1950-2008

Media Research Center President Brent Bozell has issued the following statement regarding Tim Russert’s passing:

“Whenever I’ve been asked to give examples of a fair, balanced and honest journalist, Tim Russert’s name was the first name that came to mind. This was a view shared by everyone and was the ultimate testimony to his professionalism. As a moderator he was in a league of his own, always knowing when to speak and when to let his guests do the talking. As an individual he was an absolute class act, and always a gentleman. The world of journalism is vastly diminished today.”

There must be a trailblazer, and that’s Rush. However, don’t discount the other hosts so quickly. 20 years ago, Conservatism had NO voice of mass propagation; now we have many, and while varied, they’re still infinitely preferable to the sounds of cricket chirping. In other words, it took more than Rush alone to create the Conservative-skewed talk format. After all, what good would’ve Sam Adams been able to do without Ben Franklin? Without John Adams? Washington? Hancock? Paine? Those who are not against us are for us.
