Oh man, this is horrible. One of the few MSM types I had respect for, and it was a deep respect because he could be a nightmare interviewer for any purveyor of Washington bullcrap.

I know some of the pain this family is feeling. My uncle suffered a massive heart attack at the age of 54 on Sunday, and died from injuries in a car accident that resulted from it. My aunt was also badly injured, with 12 broken ribs and internal damage. Fortunately, she is trying her best to fight on.

Condolences to your family, Mr. Silverback. Be strong for them in this time of sorrow, and know that they’ve got a lot of anonymous friends here at FreeRepublic praying for them.

Mr. Silverback, I’ll also say a prayer for your family and for your Aunt’s recovery.

My condolences to both your and the Russert's family, Mr.S.

I lost my younger/only brother five years ago today, and the ticket window keeps gettin' closer.

Given the current state of our nation, some days I'm almost at peace with that reality.
