Limbaugh, for instance, believes it would be a mistake for McCain to win because the RINOs would take over the party.

Limbaugh is emphatically for a Democrat loss in the election. You must be listening to a different Limbaugh that I listen to. He makes no bones about the fact that he does not like the idea of McCain as president and hopes McCain will try a bit harder to be a more conservative. but he has never, ever said he wants McCain to loose.

Au Contraire that is what he said on one of his programs. He might have changed that.

I note, on another program, someone called in asking how they would deport 12 million illegals and Limbaugh said he never said they would deport the illegals.

Part of the problem here is he knows who he hates—McCain—but has not given us who he loves—but it just might be Mitt Romney of Bain Capital fame.

Actually at one point Ruch was saying that it would be better for Obama to win or at least for McCain not to win.

But he has recently changed to defeating Obama and getting a win for the republicans.

So, both of you are correct, just different time frames.
