Judge wants investigation into his Web porn (Chief Judge of 9th CoA)

LOS ANGELES - The criminal prosecution of a hard-core pornographer turned into a personal trial for the presiding judge, who called for an investigation Thursday into his own conduct over lewd photos and videos stored on his family's publicly accessible Web site.

Alex Kozinski, chief judge of the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals, asked an ethics panel of the court to initiate proceedings after the disclosure about his trove of sexually explicit material.

"I will cooperate fully in any investigation," Kozinski said in a statement.

The Los Angeles Times reported Wednesday that Kozinski had posted sexual material on his personal Web site and then blocked access after being interviewed about it Tuesday evening. He told the Times he was responsible for posting at least some of the images and videos.

The computerized cache included a picture of two nude women on all fours painted to look like Holstein dairy cows, images of masturbation, a video of a man being pursued by a sexually aroused donkey and a slide show featuring a striptease with a transsexual.

"If you found this kind of thing in your kid's bedroom you would wash your kid's mouth out with soap. We expect more from a judge," said Laurie Levenson, a former federal prosecutor and law professor at Loyola University Law School. "Character counts for judges because they have so much power and affect so many people's lives."

Kozinski who has been mentioned as a possible Supreme Court candidate, is known for his intellectual rigor, writing flourishes and an outlandish — some say boorish — personality.

Since they never mention his party affiliation, I assume that he’s a staunch democrat. More and more, the public’s eyes are being opened to the hidden agenda of the left in this country, but will it all be too late?!

This is how a country dies.

He is more of a libertarian with pro-Second Amendment leanings. So what if he is a bit of a perv? The fact that he is pro-Second Amendment is almost all that matters. I would rather have a judge who is not a perv and who is pro-Second Amendment, but I think we need to accept anyone who will leave us alone. The leftist media will want to see him replaced with a Marxist judge who will force children to watch gay porn in school.

Whats wrong with everybody? - Who cares what party?

The 9th is the most frequently overturned court in America today, and it is the first bastion of hard core Marxist, leftist, ACLU leaning liberal trash.

It doesn't matter what party the leftists are in, they are still liberal trash and leftists.

There are plenty of such in the GOP, and that is how we came to have a liberal like McCain as the GOP standard bearer of mainstream Republican values.

Has it occurred to anybody that the Founders failed us when they gave judges lifetime tenure? Why shouldn't they be accountable to the voters like everybody else?

Because then they may make the politically prudent decision rather than the correct decision. Sadly those two do not always go hand in hand.

I believe he is also a staunch 1st amendment protector. Of course, he had a pretty big investment in that one not being limited. Still I think the lesson is clear, we need more perverts on the bench, as long as they aren’t hypocrites we get to keep our freedoms.

Pretty interesting report in the Los Angeles Daily Journal today. In that article Kozinski blamed the porno stash on his son. Mind you this was a couple of days after his talk with the LA Times wherein he made no mention of his son having anything to do with the porn. So in effect, he is apparently getting ready to pitch his kid over the side in order to save himself.

COME ON, people. He is a JUDGE!

Had to have just been researching for a current case, building a database for a potential future case, or writing a book. Hmmm....., yeah, that's the ticket.

Their "lifetime tenure" is conditioned on good behavior. The Founders gave us the means to remove them by impeachment.

That's the way to correct it. We just don't take advantage of it.

On the Savage Nation radio show, he pointed out what the MSM is leaving out:

- the pornography was of a particularly vile nature: deification, urination, and sex with animals

- the judge is an activist Democrat
