I'm Irate
June 12, 2008 | Me

Posted on 06/12/2008 7:46:35 PM PDT by Dan Nunn

I'm irate. I've heard enough on drilling, windfall profits taxes, fairness doctrines, Bush tax cuts, CEO pay regulation, universal health care, global warming, cap and trade, Iraq, Iran, Guantanamo I could scream. Everywhere I look, it's getting worse and worse. The libs are getting closer and closer to outright Stalinism and somehow, they've found a candidate who represents their disgusting, shallow-minded views.

Number one, I'm sick of compromising. Every time I hear that word, I want to barf. Compromise is a one-way street in Washington. Bush lets Kennedy write the No Child Left Behind bill. Bush lets Kennedy write the Amnesty bill of 2007. McCain preaches 'bipartisanship' meaning he will assist Democrats in passing bills. When do the libtards ever compromise?

Number two, if I hear global warming tied to one more disaster, of which we've had since the dawn of time, I'm going to scream. How dumb are people? I am utterly disgusted at all of the 'green' bullshit going on like it's going to make a lick of difference. Seriously, folks. Leaving your 100w incandescent light on for 4 hours doesn't do jack crap. Combine all of the cars on the planet and compare their pollution to ONE, just ONE wildfire in Florida or California. I AM SO SICK of people telling me how to live my life!!

Number three, universal health care. How many examples of government-run divisions do you need before you come to your senses? The DMV is the obvious example. The NHS (National Health Service) in Great Britain is the world's third largest employer! Imagine how bad an American universal health care system would bankrupt us. Also, isn't this precisely the function of our Federalist government? Massachusetts tried something close to it under Mitt Romney. It's a failure. But you know what? GREAT! This is the way it should be. States, try it all you want. That's why we as a nation are comprised of 50 experiments in government. If you don't like the way things are run, move to another state. Hell, I'm itching to move residency out of New York (but maintain a place in WNY - beautiful area).

Number four - oil! This topic alone proves that we need to revisit our education system and how it teaches fundimental segments of our society, namely economics. That the libtards resort to demonizing oil companies because they are making a profit - with margins around 10%, even, is the essence of class warfare (and hence, the beginnings of Marxism). If I hear one more time from one of my ignorant friends about price gouging or big oil companies, I swear to God I'll make them scared to call me for at least a week. Exxon makes about 8 cents per gallon of gas sold! The government makes over 60 cents in some cases - and what part of drilling, extracting, transporting, refining, re-transporting, and holding in inventory are they in? NOTHING! And windfall profits or CEO pay caps? When did this country turn into Soviet Russia? Since when is it bad to make a profit? These are publicly traded companies, creating wealth for their shareholders, their employees, and the communities that support them.

Number five - fairness doctrine. This one irks me more than nothing else. Such a blatant restriction of our constitutional right to free speech it is completely out of my realm of comprehension. The libs will stop at nothing to squelch the voices of opposition so that they can push forward their agenda included in every other point I've made today.

Number six - tax cuts. It's been proven time and again that cutting taxes spurs growth and increases Government revenues. Why is this so hard for idiot libtards to understand? Because they use taxes as a method of control, as we see in New York with cigarette prices and other assorted libtards with gasoline taxes. The constant demonization of the rich is incredibly insulting - I'm not rich yet, but I think like a rich person. Why? Because one day I aspire to be rich and persue the American dream. When did the American dream stop being a dream, and start being a feeling of envy, jealousy, and disgust? Not to mention the economics of it all - the rich are the ones who invest, start businesses, employ people, and support communities. I've heard the question elsewhere but I'll repeat it here - when's the last time a poor person signed your paycheck?

And McCain. I vote on principle most of the time. But this is too important. Abraham Lincoln once said that the Constitution is not a suicide pact. I believe this election is not, either. It'd be great to tell the Republicans that McCain really, really sucks and that we need a real conservative. But the costs are way too high. Barack Obama, if elected, would only serve 4 or 8 years. But there are supreme court judges waiting for a Democrat to retire, the repercussions of which will last for decades. Also at stake are policies that have the lasting impact of bankrupting America similar to the policies of FDR - we're still trying to figure out how to fix Social Security so we don't go broke. What the hell do you think we'll be doing in 20 years worrying about Obama's Universal Health Care?

I'm in my early 20s. Is this what it felt like to be a disaffected conservative in the 1960s when it seemed like the whole country was ignorant of common sense and core American values and beliefs? Couldn't be... we at least had a President who honored, respected and loved this country - be it JFK, LBJ, or Nixon. Look who we have running on the Democratic ticket now.

Seriously, I think it may be a good time to start looking for places of residence outside the borders of this country.

Up to this point we have been able to lead our lives any way we chose to, despite the insanity of the gummint, the environmentalist, the trial lawyers, ACLU and so on. The shiite is starting to hit the fanski for all of us in our every day lives - case in point the offshore drilling ban.

The populace is glued to the idiot boxes, now flat, Hurray!, obsessed with sex crimes (see this very forum), uninformed, uninspired.

I dunno. I think the pub crawl to the left is inevitable as the democrat party continues its headlong rush to stalinism. The further they go the more leftish moderates they chase out of the party and where else do they have to go?

Seems to me that the destruction of the two party system would be a major advancement in saving America. Don’t have a clue how to do it, but they may be selfdestructing on their own.

Right on Dan!! Have you ever thought about getting in to talk radio? (Assuming they don’t enact the Fairness Doctrine, that is...)

“I’m not wasting my vote on a backstabbing punk like McCain.” Oh, you won’t be wasting your vote if you don’t vote for Juan, you’ll be using it to help Obammessiah. You know it and we all know it, but hey, whatever makes you feel empowered sparky. There are lots of libertarians planning on diving into the same pool to feed Bob Barr’s ego as Barry’s useful idiots. Go for it!

"And McCain. I vote on principle most of the time."

I was so right there with ya, till you typed this paragraph!!!

What make you feel the way you do is the inexorable way the left keeps the hydrolic pressure on our government every day, in every way and you no longer believe we could ever change any of it back like it's supposed to be. Well, I just can't agree with you on that.

But on the rest of it... You couldn't be more right on the money!!!

I’m with you... if Obama does win, I’m going to try, for the first time I can ever remember, to ignore politics. What good will it do me if we have no voice. The scary thing is how bad Democrats can wreck this country if we let them. Heck, I don’t think even Carter had this opportunity to inhibit industry with Global Warming bills, destroy our budget with universal health care, and obliterate our culture by electing liberal Supreme Court justices.

I am no fan of McCain, but considering the options... OK, it’s coming down to this for me. Do you think we stand a chance of influencing him when he is in office? I know the Obamanation would not listen to a thing conservative have to say, but maybe McCain would.

I dunno about that either. Seems to me that on the great issues of the day, illegals and energy exploration, there are vast bipartisan majorities that want the same thing, and it falls on deaf ears in Washington and the DBM. As long as all the candidates agree on something it never becomes an issue. Like Bush-Kerry. They would never discuss illegal aliens. Just never came up. A good old Skull & Bones agreement, is what I think.

"The Constitution isn't a suicide pact" seems only to get brought up when someone wants to modify or ignore it without actually amending it.

Leave the Constitution as is.

Well thank you very much for the kind words, Cymbaline! Actually, I have a friend who has a regional hunting and fishing show on talk radio, and he’s insisted the same thing - starting with being his sidekick! I turned him down for now though, since I don’t hunt, fish, or want to wake up at 5:30 on Saturday mornings! But seriously, I’d love to do that sometime as something to suppliment my day (much in the same way Mark Levin does). Thanks again!

I agree that any non-leftists judges appointed by McCain — should he ever do it, which is not a sure thing — would perhaps not even get confirmation hearings. But consider this: Stevens who is as old as dirt might become unable to continue on the bench, and the Bolsheviks won’t confirm a McCain nominated replacement. so, the SCOTUS is 4-4 between the constitutionalists and the communists. What then? And what if Ruth Baader Meinhof Ginsberg joins Stevens in his infirmity? A 4-3 court? Are their decisions as binding as 5-4 votes?

I feel the same way, and McCain is our great white hope. Damn I wish I could buy a ticket off of this planet.

Leave the Constitution as is.

I'm with you 100% on that. I don't want to ignore or modify the Constitution at all - merely pointing out the voting vs. not voting McCain argument, one that's likely been argued to death elsewhere on FR.

Thank you very much for your kudos. Feels good to know that there are millions upon millions of people out there angry at the same kind of crap going on in this country, the crap that is serving to brainwash the electorate into garbage like global warming and class warfare.
