I had heard earlier that these storms were kind of “staying put” over the area. That the squall line is moving very slowly, but the individual storm cells within it are moving at about 40mph to the NE.

Does anyone with experience in watching these things know if it’s going to make it’s way further and possibly into Wisconsin tonight?

UPDATE:

Homeland security is still confirming 4 deaths, but they have said that the previous report of 6 injuries is incorrect. The number Ch. 6 is reporting is 40 injured.

There was apparently a spotter that was caught right in the middle of this particular storm due to a glitch in his radar - he was attempting to warn the camp apparently. He said it was a “rain-wrapped” tornado - a rare one. They said that it’s very hard to recognize these types of tornados even for those trained.

Omaha Metro Number for parents - 431-9272
