Obama Vetter Resigns From Search Team

WASHINGTON (June 11) - Jim Johnson, a manager of Democrat Barack Obama's vice presidential search team, resigned Wednesday amid criticism over his personal loan deals.

"Jim did not want to distract in any way from the very important task of gathering information about my vice presidential nominee, so he has made a decision to step aside that I accept," Obama said in a statement. "We have a very good selection process under way, and I am confident that it will produce a number of highly qualified candidates for me to choose from in the weeks ahead. I remain grateful to Jim for his service and his efforts in this process."

Johnson, the former chairman of mortgage lender Fannie Mae, received loans with the help of the CEO of Countrywide Financial Corp., which is part of a federal investigation in the midst of the subprime mortgage crisis. The story was first reported by the Wall Street Journal.

Once again, we need to read this for its omissions. As reported earlier today in a WSJ editorial and other articles, Johnson, while with Fannie May: 1) approved a deal with Countrywide Financial which transferred a number of Fannie May mortgages to Countrywide on favorable terms to Countrywide while, almost simultaneously, receiving favorable, sub-market mortgages from Countrywide (bribery, anyone??) and 2) was involved in overstating Countrywide's profits so he could be eligible for $21,000,000 compensation package. In other words, he was and is a greased pig liberal/COMMUNIST (where's the difference??) with whom the Messiah got caught again (remember Rev. Wright, etc.) and was forced to send into the political septic tank. The sooner the Messiah and his anti-American, communist wife go there with all their Communist, terrorist, and criminal friends, the better.

Obama sure picks some rotten friends. His judgment on buddies and advisors stinks. He says he can meet with foreign leaders such as Iran’s Imanutjob but Obama isn’t likely to be able to correctly size them up and protect America from bad guys.
