The R.N.C. just responded to the resignation of James Johnson from Obama's vice presidential search committee, and they are not satisfied. The Republicans obviously feel they have a mini-victory here, but also that they can get more mileage out of the Johnson flap. From R.N.C. spokesperson Alex Conant:
If Barack Obama is concerned his campaigns ties to special interests are distracting from his VP search and message, why is Eric Holder still on his search committee? Why is registered federal lobbyist Steve Farber leading the convention for Obamas supposedly lobbyist-free campaign? Obamas hypocritical attacks show he cant stand up to his own standard and that he just isnt ready to make change.

I think it's more tongue in cheek. They are going after Obama because of his holier than thou attitude towards lobbyists, which incidentally appears to be hypocritical.

I think I finally figured it out. He can’t throw Michelle under the bus because she is driving it.

Barack Obama was quoted as saying, “This isn’t the James Johnson I knew.” [/sarcasm]

The RNC should tell OB that he doesn’t need to vet his staff.
We will.

Republicans should shrug this off... There is nothing wrong with lobbyists. There’s a lobbyist for almost any interest.
To: MeanGreen2008
No way. This is not about lobbyists. It is Obama’s hypicrisy on the issue which should be went after.

BINGO! But what if its the world's first 2 steering wheeler driven by the Obamas?
Pretty scary.
Crazed double steering bus hoisting the hapless merrymakers straight for the abyss.
