Oklahoma Democrat Denounces Obama
The Bulletin ^ | 06/11/2008 | Joe Murray

Rep. Dan Boren, the lone Democrat in Oklahoma's congressional delegation, has declined to endorse Barack Obama, describing the Illinois senator as "the most liberal senator in the U.S. Senate."

"Our nominee is not my first choice," Mr. Boren said in an Associated Press interview. Mr. Boren, who is seeking a third term in a conservative district, argued problems such as a stalling economy and high gas prices require a bipartisan spirit and "unfortunately, [Mr. Obama's] record does not reflect working in a bipartisan fashion."

Obama Establishes Internet War Room

Plagued by e-mail rumors that he is a Muslim, took his Senate oath with the Quran and sympathizes with Palestinian radicals, Mr. Obama created a rapid response team with the sole purposed of combating Internet-based rumors.

"[These e-mails] filled with tall tales and dire warnings about a certain candidate for president, and all I want to say is, 'Let me know if you see this guy named Barack Obama because he sounds pretty scary,'" Mr. Obama told members of AIPAC, a Jewish lobby.

Mr. Obama, whose middle name is Hussein, has been the subject of many half-truths and mistruths, and some of the rumors are sticking. Despite professing his Christian faith, a March poll found 13 percent of Americans believe the Illinois senator is a Muslim, a jump of five percentage points from December.

If thine party offends thee, leave it.

There are plenty of other conservative Democrats who've nudged out moderate Republicans from office. Enough to give control of Congress to Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi, and Robert Byrd.

Well, I think things are going to get harder for Obama. It’s one thing to finagle the nomination, it’s quite another to be in the general campaign and have people who come out and really begin to take a microscopic view of you and ask the hard questions.

Some of the "rumors" are sticking because some of the denials aren't holding up to scrutiny. Things like the excuse that his grade school paperwork shows him as a muslim was a clerical error.

It was Pastor Wright who "brought" Obama to Christ. Before that he was not a Christian. His fathers were "non-practicing" muslims. I seem to recall reading that his grandparents (who raised him) were atheist.

Pastor Wright is himself a former muslim who associates with Louis Farrakhan and the Nation of Islam. The public has also heard the types of sermons preached by Wright. Very little about Christ in there.

Hussein a Christian? Wow, that seems a stretch, knowing the racists that he hung with for 23 years.

Was he baptized I wonder?

He will not endorse him because he is too liberal and he does not want to offend his constituents. But he says he will vote for hom because he is the Democratic nominee. More, pure political bravo sierra and tom foolery.

...and Wright himself is not a "Christian" in any traditonal sense, so what he brought Obama to is also not Christian in any traditional sense once you find out the basis of their "theology". It's a marxist construct under the color of religion.

That tells us all we need to know. Another Dem trying to stake claim to both sides of an issue. Same with the war. Those that voted for it wanted credit. When credit turned into blame, they conveniently changed their position.

and ask the hard questions.

I'm sure he and his operatives are fully prepared to keep people asking such questions at a great distance.

He should wait for the election but he will be punished for stepping off the reservation - lose his comm. assignments, made to sit w/ Joe Lieberman in the time-out chair, etc.

Sounds like Representative Boren is going to get some in your face time like Senator Lieberman did.

David Boren, a superdelegate, lent his support to Obama some time ago. Aren’t these two related?
