To those of us who took part at the Gathering of Eagles in 2007 in Washington DC, we saw firsthand how the media shamelessly distorts things for its own agendas when we watched the news coverage that night that was one-sided and bore little resemblance to the actual events.
I don’t know if this is true, but it would not surprise me one bit.

Similar to the experience of those of us FReepers who stood outside the Vice President’s residence in 2000 exhorting Gore to “Get out of Cheney’s house!” Footage shown on TV when we had hundreds on our side was deliberately manipulated to make it a appear as though the number on the other side was equal and, in some cases, greater. One of the tricks they used, I noticed, was to put a camera behind only our first line of people to tape the group across the street. Being the polite people we are, of course, we stepped out of the way of cameras and never loudly questioned what they were doing. Scum bags!
