Obama campaign manager David Plouffe is unrolling the general election campaign he has been shaping for months. For example, in May, the campaign unveiled a 50-state voter registration drive, the skeleton operation Plouffe is adding meat to now that Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill.) is officially the presumptive nominee. On Tuesday, Plouffeon the Democratic National Committee e-mailsent out a low-dollar appeal for money for Obamas 50 state campaign.
The letter demonstrates how strongly the Obama team is now running the DNCand how DNC chairman Howard Dean now answers to Obama.

While Big Media has reportedly endlessly on the inner workings of the Clinton campaign and which member of McCain's team may have lobbied for whom once upon a time, they've paid little attention to the real story of the 2008 primaries: the ruthless efficiency of the people pulling the strings for Obama. This conscious omission causes the public to perceive the Big O as the genius responsible for his campaign's successful strategy, further validating him as a candidate. This column by Lynn Sweet is the first time--other than a few token appearances by David Axelrod--that I've seen the media peek through the curtain behind the wizard of O. -Wm Tate,

Officially presumptive? Is that like maybe certainly or approximately absolutely?

Excellent point! It’s hilarious to watch the media go through contortions to try and make sure they’ve actually driven a stake through Hillary’s heart, so that she won’t rise up again once the sun goes down.
