If you're wondering how low the Obama campaign will sink and how eagerly the media will abet them in their unfair attacks, you might want to take a look at my article on NRO today which details how Newsweek facilitates the Obama campaign's slandering of Joe Lieberman. The Obama campaign accuses Lieberman of "half-hearted denials of the false rumors that Obama is a Muslim," an accusation which demonstrably not true, and Newsweek printed without bothering to ask Lieberman about it.
After reading my article, Geraghty notes that Newsweek has established quite the pattern of being in the tank for Obama — and Jennifer Rubin over at Commentary asks some relevant questions:
How smart is it of the Obama camp to antagonize a revered figure in the Jewish community? Is this showing tact and diplomatic skills or a tendency to bully and bluster? I suspect it will change Senator Lieberman’s conduct and behavior not at all.
On that last point, Lieberman's office emailed me this morning with another statement, following up on what they told me for my article: "If the Obama campaign thinks they are going to intimidate Joe Lieberman with these sleazy tactics then they are sorely mistaken."
Didn’t Newsweek estimate that their endorsement was worth 15% points for Kerry.
Some things never change. Like Dan Rather and the New York Times they print the news to fit their agenda.
Lieberman, for all his faults, is not of the Jimmy Carter wing of the Dim party.
Obama, in contrast, is a taupe Jimmy Carter.
I, really, really, hope Obama pisses off Lieberman.

It won't matter. Boobama could call for the destruction of Israel and still get 75% of the Jewish vote. He has a "D" by his name.

That’s actually an easy question to answer. Politically, not too smart. But, it’s pretty simple, really.
Obama = Muslim/Black Liberation Theology = Hates Jews.

You don't have to put in the Muslim in there to know that Black Liberation theology is based in Socialism. Socialism has just a wonderful record with Jews!

The scary part is that Obama is the Messiah. Not just as RUSH says his followers think he is, but Obama has a messiah complex. Black liberation theology world view would be totally compatible with an Obama Messiah.

Fair enough. The Black Liberation Theology pretty much covers the “Hates Jews” part.

Furthermore, during a Senate vote Wednesday, Obama dragged Lieberman by the hand to a far corner of the Senate chamber and engaged in what appeared to reporters in the gallery as an intense, three-minute conversation.
While it was unclear what the two were discussing, the body language suggested that Obama was trying to convince Lieberman of something and his stance appeared slightly intimidating.
Using forceful, but not angry, hand gestures, Obama literally backed up Lieberman against the wall, leaned in very close at times, and appeared to be trying to dominate the conversation, as the two talked over each other in a few instances.
That certainly is a lot different than how Chrissy always wants to portray him.
I wonder if that kind of aggression will come out.
Frankly, when the guy isn’t on a teleprompter, he bumbles around way worse than Bush ever did.
Bush certainly mangled words and whole phrases when making his non-scripted remarks, but you could understand what he was saying (or trying to say).
Obama doesn’t even know what he’s talking about. Yet, no news from Chrissy and the MSM.
