Kenya was a British colony when Obama was born and the Kenyan constitution forbids Citizenship to foreign born of Colonial parent prior to Nationhood. But Obama may have a claim to British passport.

More likely, the birth certificate lists his religion as Muslim!

No, it’s not mandatory to have a birth certificate. However, birth records are public records, and any researcher can search the registers.

Maybe they do not; for some good reasons. However, public interest and the 'legal requirements' for a wannabe President have merit for an exception.

Otherwise; we will have more Candidates from Hawaii...with Mexican accents, coming up the Demrat ranks.

That’s a good question. How can he be sworn in if congress don’t know that is actually eligible?

But I venture that its probably a trap. He holds it off in the hopes that the GOP makes a big deal out of it and then when he releases it its all OK. I can’t imagine that his party would let him get this far without assurance.

The only way to avoid the trap is to let Bob Barr do the muckraking on behalf of the Libertarian party, possibly attempt to have his name stripped from ballots in several of the 50 states on the grounds that he has not proven his eligibility. Hey, maybe he’s really only 29 years old?

Could someone get this off to Fox News/Brit. . . Sean/O'Reilly.

I would; but think they are tired of hearing suggestion from me. . .so will give it a rest; though, not for long, of course.

I'd contribute $100 to a lawsuit against his citizen status .... if such a suit were filed AFTER the DNC convention and Before Oct 1st.

Yeah perhaps there is another way to obtain it - the Selective Service should have a copy, as should the State Department (I presume he has an American passport in which case he needed to prove his citizenship).

There should be at least 3 places to find it.

And if Mr “I don’t hold my hand over my heart when saying the pledge allegiance” did not sign up for selective service, it should be a scandal.

But again I gotta think that the party elders vetted him better than this.

Apparently birth records are not public in Hawaii:

From:

http://hawaii.gov/health/vital-records/vital-records/index.html

About Vital Records Vital records (birth, death, marriage, and divorce certificates) for events that occurred in Hawaii are received and preserved by the Office of Health Status Monitoring, a unit of the Department of Health. In Hawaii, access to vital records is restricted by statute (HRS §338-18). Certified copies of these records may be issued to authorized individuals and used for such diverse purposes as school entry, passports, Social Security participation, driver’s licenses, employment, sports participation, survivor’s benefits, proof of property rights, and other needs.

“Natural born” meaning in the constitution cannot be changed by passing a law.
