He’s a big-time lefty, but he was great in Cool Hand Luke, and Slapshot.
>> Hes a big-time lefty
Yeah, but (IMO) not an annoying one.
Prayers for him.
A line I still use with my kids...
What we have heeya, is failure to com’yun’cate!
He puts his money where his mouth is...
He puts his life out there for all to see. Marriage has been good for him! His politics is just one side of his life. Could you imagine Bubba & the Mrs. doing the same with their $$$?
He IS a big time lefty but unlike the current crop of Hollywood lefties, speaks rarely about his positions, and doesn’t spend 24/7 bashing President Bush. And he does put his time and money where his mouth is unlike many on the left who expect all the “good works” to be paid for by the taxpayers.
That said, I certainly wish him and his family well. Sloane Kettering is about as good as it gets for cancer patients.
Although I will never watch it again because of Redford I loved Newman in The Sting.
I have nothing against anyone who takes a left look at politics. What I have a problem with is the one that yells and screams their thoughts. Paul at least shut the heck up.
I'd bet he'd put that one back in the can if he could.
His best movie, IMHO, was "The Hustler".
IMHO, Slapshot is one of the most underrated comedies of all time. It was a perfect commentary on the state of the sport at that time.
Prayers for Paul! He's got a big heart with millions to charity through Newman's Own Foundation.
Newman is a gentleman and a scholar. If he’s a leftie, he’s a leftie in the right way, personally supporting charities, donating Newman’s Own brand profits to charities, and making really good stuff under that label. Try their ginger cookies and sesame ginger salad dressing. Quality all the way for Paul.
My prayers and best wishes for his health and comfort.
He’s one lefty I never really minded, a smoker, a drinker and always put his own money up for his causes.
Slapshot was one of my dad’s faves and still cracks me up too.
and Slapshot still cracks me up. I miss Strother Martin, what a great character actor he was.
