A California group is running a radio ad that uses Barack Obamas former minister and Nebraskas only black state senator to take aim at affirmative action in the state.
The ad, which includes a clip of the Rev. Jeremiah Wright saying God damn America, says Wright and Nebraska Sen. Ernie Chambers believe in race preferences, but most Nebraskans dont...
The American Civil Rights Initiative, which is sponsoring the ad, is pushing measures in several states, including Nebraska, that oppose affirmative action, which the group says gives preferential treatment on the basis of race, sex, color, ethnicity or national origin.
The Nebraska Civil Rights Initiative, which is collecting signatures to put a constitutional amendment on the states November ballot, needs to have about 114,000 signatures 10 percent of the states registered voters by July 4.
Nebraska is one of five states targeted this year by the American Civil Rights Initiatives Super Tuesday for Equal Rights Fund, founded by California businessman and activist Ward Connerly.
Connerly has prevailed three times in past elections, with voters in California, Michigan and Washington approving proposals banning government-sponsored race and gender preferences in public education, state hiring and public contracts.
Opponents have raised more than $263,000 including a $50,000 donation from Omaha billionaire Warren Buffett

Maybe it is not so hard to believe, when you consider that adding up all the "minorities" being favored, including women, that they have a super-majority of voters. Only white males need not apply. Bizarre, but true.
The enemedia has gone so far left that they are not be believed. Not just here with us but also with much of the general public that we meet.
Ward Connerly has a good record of wins when he can get this past the racists.
The perception that reporters are advocates rather than observers is held by 82% of Republicans, 56% of Democrats, and 69% of voters not affiliated with either major party.
The skepticism about reporters cuts across income, racial, gender, and age barriers.

I am amazed there is a group pushing for this - it’s about time! What’s even more amazing to me is that the AP actually ran a story on it.
Connerly has done well.
He also put this on Colorado this year which may help us against BO in November.
Thanks
He sure has... I read the article posted here from - I think it was - the Denver Post? I can’t believe how biased it was. It shouldn’t surprise me, as I’m no stranger to how those “reporters” at the Post (and the RMN) are.
I hope that this initiative not only helps McCain, but that it passes by a large margin for the good of all Coloradans. (I’ll be praying for you all in August though - glad I don’t live in Denver anymore!)
OOPS... I thought it was a Denver Post article, but it was the one from MediaNews in the Contra Costa Times. I went to the article at the Post further down on that thread that talked about the opposition’s funding sources - I guess that’s why I was confused! :)
This is not something that there was mass outrage in Nebraska about and a public outpouring of support for change, Kramer said. This is manufactured by people from California.
Kramer doesn't know what he is talking about.
This right here is a LIE in the article: Opponents say it plays to peoples fears that unqualified minorities are being picked over qualified non-minorities. Affirmative action doesnt mean giving preferences to minorities, they say, its about ensuring good-faith efforts to recruit minority candidates and keeping people accountable for their hiring decisions.
Fine, Ernie Chambers, you get TV time with Ward Connerly. And it's provable, absolutely provable that minorities are and have been picked over qualified non-minorities -- in re - jobs, education, state monies.
In CA, folks with kids scoring out the stratosphere SAT HAD to pay to send their kids to colleges elsewhere as the local Universities refused these hardworking academic kids entrance into the toniest Universities throughout CALIFORNIA because they had the "wrong" skin color. California bureacracies couldn't deliver decent services, although hundreds had applied for the positions -- but because the applicants had the "wrong" skin color, therefore, no one was hired to fill the jobs.
Preferential affirmative action is the very path by which California has been economically devastated.
You wanna see illegals but of the right "skin color" running your local Department of Motor Vehicles? It happened throughout CA. And IDENTITY THEFT was enormous. You wanna see the "right color" get into office and bureacracies and create little Oakland, Californias everywhere throughout Nebraska... Fine, you just go ahead and trust yer Ernie Chambers.
The Denver Post also ran a hit piece. They are terrible.
We hope that this effort helps many states longterm and the POTUS election in November.
Jeremiah Wright is an excellent example of affirmative action. Other than claiming African ancestry, why would anyone give him a job in a Christian church?
There is nothing “Affirmative” about Affirmative Action. It is racist to the core.
Consider the hypocrisy of those who support Affirmative Action:
They so detest racism that they’re going to “use racism as a tool to end racism.” Makes a lot of sense, huh?
Even more offensive is that they want “Big Brother” (our gov’t) to do the discriminating based on skin color alone. That is STATE-SANCTIONED RACISM - which is far worse than arbitrary racism by individuals.
Don’t these idiots see their bald hypocrisy???
Apparently not!
“Affirmative Racism” is socialism masquerading as a do-good in-your-face gov’t program.
Chambers, whos spoken out against an anti-affirmative action bill in the Legislature, blasted the ad Tuesday, saying its meant to frighten people.
"Speaking out" is liberal speak indicating that the "speaker" is righteously aggrieved and theretofore afraid to come out.
It indicates the depth of racism that those who put out the ad believe exists in Nebraska, said Chambers. I think those people must believe that I am more hated in Nebraska than I am.
Nowhere in the article is it mentioned that Connerly is black. Hence they can plaster the charge for the benefit of the ignorant and get away with it. Despicable journalism.
Supporters of the measure say it levels the playing field, giving everyone an equal chance at every job.
IT'S UNAMERICAN!!!
Opponents say it plays to peoples fears that unqualified minorities are being picked over qualified non-minorities. Affirmative action doesnt mean giving preferences to minorities, they say, its about ensuring good-faith efforts to recruit minority candidates and keeping people accountable for their hiring decisions.
With twice the column inches for "opponents" as for supporters. Not one quote from Mr. Connely do I see.
Nebraska is one of five states targeted this year by the American Civil Rights Initiatives Super Tuesday for Equal Rights Fund, founded by California businessman and activist Ward Connerly.
They're targeted... OOOO, must be evil, and a "businessman" too... must be one of those bad racist white guys...
Connerly has prevailed three times in past elections... This year, organizers in Missouri have conceded that too few signatures would be gathered by the deadline, and they bowed out in Oklahoma...
People are wising up to this!
Doug Tietz, executive director of the Nebraska Civil Rights Initiative, wouldnt say Tuesday how many signatures had been gathered but said hes confident the group will have enough.
Big bucks are flowing into the fight.
OOO, evil businessmen with MONEY want to stop affirmative action. I see.
Opponents have raised more than $263,000 including a $50,000 donation from Omaha billionaire... The University of Nebraska Foundation gave $25,000 to Nebraskans United, which is opposed to the measure...
Generous philanthropists (who supposedly don't care about money) are helping the smart people fight back.
Chambers said some senators didnt understand what Christensens measure would do until it was explained to them. He said he hopes Nebraskans arent easily bamboozled.
Senators on the other hand...
I need to go take a shower.
Thanks geo.

Thanks.
The enemedia at work.
We are witnessing the ultimate disaster in PC affirmative action with the Uber Liberal, Hussein ObamaMessiaHamas becoming the rat presidential candidate and possibly our president.
His only qualification appears to be his hoax that he is black which he isn’t.
