Actually, what you have been taught is misinformation that has been given out, either intentionally or mistakenly, for at least the past 30 years. Many physicians who give out the pill should know better, but I believe that many turn a blind’s eye to the actual function of the pill because they don’t want to believe that they are helping to procure abortions.
I believe the original pill that was introduced in the early 60’s may have actually been a preventative because the hormonal content was much higher. But the current pill is referred to as the “low dose” pill because the hormones contained in it has been lowered substantially. If you go to that web site I referred to in my earlier and click the video about the pill, it will help clear up this, excuse the expression, misconception.

This same statement can be said of many Christian groups.
Make that more like 40 years, or thereabouts. I learned it in Biology 101 in college, when we were going over hormonal control of pregnancy. It's probably a side-effect, but you're right in that, if so, no one ever told me about it.
Declaration of Independence mentions “life,” even before liberty and the pursuit of happiness. Also, cruel and unusual punishment is outlawed in the constitution. And what about 14th Amendment, which prohibits unequal treatment (between born and unborn in this case)?
