OK folks, it is clear to me that if there is no fire about Michelle's ranting, then it is fairly easy to disprove. The alleged event took place at the 33rd annual Rainbow/PUSH conference in Chicago in June 2004. The agenda clearly lists her as a 'special guest' at the women's conference. She is not listed anywhere else on the agenda for the multi day event. Two reporters from the local ABC affiliate were the M.C.'s. Shoshane Johnson was also a special guest and Jesse Jackson was keynote speaker. That means at least 4 people know if she spoke at the event, and if she did, what she said.

The fact that two local ABC reporters were the M.C.'s makes it pretty certain cameras were recording the event, either for Rainbow/PUSH or for the local ABC affliate, or both. If she did not in fact speak, then produce the tape of the whole event and the story dies. If she did speak, but said nothing bad, produce the tape of the whole lunch program and the story dies.

Obama's people certainly know the controversy about Michelle revolves around the 33rd annual Rainbow/PUSH conference, and the only evidence out to date is the picture of her from JET magazine with Louis Farrakans wife, and her inclusion in the agenda for the conference as being special guest at womemn's lucheon.

If there is no fire around this smoke, then when Obama was asked about he should have issued plain denial. Instead he equivocated, lending more suspicion to the story. If there is nothing, his people should put out the ABC reporters to deny it, put out any tapes that exist to disprove it.

Instead I hear ABC will not release any tapes in their possesion without a subpeona. Trinity has scrubbed their website store of any references, and Rainbow/PUSH is stonewalling. Inquiring minds want to know why?

No one should have to disprove anything that has not been proven.

You would have better luck trying to get the Catholic Church to release the marriage certificate between Jesus and Mary Magdalen.

when you are running for POTUS and people have attacked your wife, you should defend her, now issue some non-denial, denial. When you entire camapign can fail based on close confidants of your who have made rascist diatribes, it behooves you to put out a fire before it engulfs you.

Unless they're a conservative.

Interesting they used the word “subpoena”. I guess they meant it like “you are NEVER getting it, so don’t bother”.

I wonder who owns the ABC affiliate? The network wasn’t afraid to air Wright tapes, some of the affiliates are owned by the parent network, it could eventually (if there really IS a video) get to the point between having the major scoop (business) vs electing Obama.

Drudge made his bones by getting tips about things the media was sitting on or about to release. If there IS a video, perhaps someone is waiting to whisper it in Drudge’s ear.

Someone at that affiliate might see an opportunity to “go national” etc.

There has to be a decent sized group of people who have at least seen it. Of course, it could be buried in a sea of cutting room floor raw video if they never aired it etc. It all depends on how many people have seen it and know about I Suppose.

Maybe the local station has their archive online I am sure its been serched high and low. But if the tape existed from the program for PUSH they would make the hay of the issue. So the tape must not exist. TV stations are whores and they would use it for a SWEEPS WEEK for ratings. Perhaps fall ratings?

... I hear ABC will not release any tapes in their possesion without a subpeona....

Let me get this straight:

1. ABC claims to be an unbiased news organization interested in reporting the truth.

2. ABC has recordings that might prove or disprove a rumor that can make or brake a candidacy.

3. ABC will not pursue releasing or, for that matter, confirm or deny that such recordings exist.

Doesn't ABC realize that regarding being unbiased, this will cost them any crediblity they have left?

Actually, George Bush was forced to defend himself several times about things that had not been proven. For instance, there were rumors about cocaine use, allegations about his Air National guard service (remember the “false but true” remarks by Dan Rather). It seems entirely reasonable that Barry’s Obama-mama should face the same treatment.

Isn't it the seriousness of the charge that counts?

Obama answered a reporter’s question yesterday:

Not really. Read it again. He responded, but didn't deny anything. The headline says he denied rumor. So that is what is getting repeated.

I believe that if it does exist, it will eventually get released or someone will be able to retire very very comfortably. Yet the scariest part about it all whether is exist or does not exist is that the supporters simply don’t care...

One rule for the Dems, a different rule for the Repub’s?

That’s just business as usual.

IMO, the Muslim Messiah and his racist wife have a long list of actions and associates that can be exposed with or without this tape. The average American doesn’t want the Al Qaeda/Hamas candidate for POTUS.
