I agree with your comments about dirty bomb in the U.S., that is only a matter of time. It is more likely Islam would use a direct nuclear device on Paris or Tel Aviv.

Location of smuggling such a device still very much matters and the impact of Paris or Tel Aviv going up would ingite a significant nuclear exhchange, enough to create severe depression conditions in the West as a whole. In all the facts on the ground it appears radical Islam is just a puppet entity supported by China and Russia. Once there job of weakening the West has been sufficiently accomplished, we will see these two nations begin to make moves.

I believe after November the President will get something done in Iran before the new POTUS comes in.

Where are guys like Teddy Roosevelt, Black Jack Pershing and Patton when you really need them.

How sad that we no longer have “leaders” with the cajones to issue the following

NOTICE TO ALL FOREIGN CITIZENS and THEIR GOVERNMENTS!
(EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY)

1. As a sovereign nation, you have the same rights to govern your nation as we have. Whether freely elected or despotic tyranny, how you run your government and DOMESTIC affairs is between you and your leaders. If you people don’t like how your government is behaving, we suggest you read some American history for the period between, say, 1774 and 1789. The world is awash in various sorts of small arms and other weapons. Getting enough to turn out your tyrant-du-jour ought not be a problem. Yes, many people will die (just as they did HERE in the late 1700s). It’s the price of freedom. But — and this is important to us — our SOLDIERS will not be among the dead. And trust us when we tell you that the casualties of your revolution will pale compared to those you will suffer should we be forced to invoke Clause 3!

2. Please pay SPECIAL attention to the word “domestic” in number 1.

3. The MINUTE we become privy to firm, corroborated intelligence that you have plans to harm the United States or one of our recognized allies — or, worst case — DO, in fact carry out such an operation, the United States and any such allies who wish to assist will come to you and request that you cease and desist. If you refuse to do so, we will TURN MOST OF YOUR LAND INTO A SMOKING RUIN. (If you’ve never seen RUBBLE BOUNCE, it’s quite a sight. Just as the Japanese saw that in 1945, we saw a good bit of that on 9/11 – and will never forget it. The Japanese never forgot it – and neither will those of you who survive!) We include in this list of threats AIDING, ABETTING, HARBORING, TRAINING OR SUPPLYING THOSE WHO, ALTHOUGH NOT CITIZENS OF YOUR NATION, MAKE PLANS TO HARM US OR AN ALLY.

We wish to live and fairly trade in peace with all peoples — BUT harm us or injure/kill American/allied citizens AND YOUR WORLD AS YOU HAVE KNOWN IT WILL SIMPLY GO AWAY — FOREVER.

(If you have never seen it, slide on down to Blockbuster and rent “The Day the Earth Stood Still” with Arabic/Farsi subtitles, of course. REREAD 3 AND THINK “GORT.”) And also remember that, since we have pulled our guys out of other nations and closed those bases – horribly costly activities with which we are no longer burdened, we have devoted those diverted resources to new, more effective human intelligence gathering methods using many of YOUR citizens as paid snitches (no more stupid Church Amendment!) so we WILL KNOW when you’re up to no good. And don’t forget that those freed up resources will allow development of more devastating weapons should we need them. Trust us when we tell you that they’re really cool.

4. And speaking of “cool,” once those smoking ruins have sufficiently cooled – and the radiation levels have fallen — we will put boots on the ground, clear any remaining resistance and seize your former property for the benefit of those who participated in the neutralization of the threat you posed. Casualties among our troops should be very limited because, as we think you have seen, the weapons possessed by the United States will leave very few to resist. REREAD 4 AND THINK 51st STATE!

Call us with any QUESTIONS. Or visit our web site at www.bendoverandkissyourassgoodbye.gov

Thank you for your support in this vital matter.
The SANE People of the United States of America

Until this becomes our policy, we continue to honor those who have paid the ultimate price for the freedoms so many of us now take for granted.

A photo was recently posted on the web showing a white board in a Marine barracks in Iraq on which one trooper had written the following:
“America is NOT at war. The United States military is at war. America is at the MALL!”

Indeed!

Go back and study the history of First Sino-Japanese War and you will understand why I believe this.

If Iran gets the bomb, I do not agree Israel will preempt with nukes. Part of this investigation into Olmert’s missapropriations scandals is to get rid of him and bring in leadership to do something conventionally before they get the bomb. Late fall may prove very interesting.

I disagree that putting Obmaa in the White House will somehow show the world that conservatives were right all along and help elect the Great Pumpkin Conservative to make things right. That seems as flimsy as Linus’s security blanket.

That's not my idea.

Obomba will face an uphill fight no matter what he wants to do.
If he wants to enact a liberal agenda, the GOP will combat it.
If he wants to enact a conservative agenda, yeh right, his own party will combat him.

If McCain gets in and wants to enact a liberal agenda, his own party will not combat it. They will follow right along behind like good little party apparatchiks.
The only way McCain will get any flak is if he trys to enact a conservative agenda.

One way we get fight out of the GOP against the liberal agenda being put forth.
The other way we get no fight out of the GOP against liberal agenda being put forth.

I'm not even talking about in the future elections. I'm talking about in the next 4 years.

The choice between him [McCain] and Barack Obama should be a no-brainer.”

With terrorism as the prime threat to America, you would think the choice between a war hero willing to defend his country or a man of dubious nature would be a simple one.

But then, there are those who would 'cut off their nose to spite their face'!

Good comparison. I assume you’re hooking McCain to people like Rev Wright, Father Flaky, Will Ayers etc?

Im not so sure of that. Unless something very huge unites us, for example a visit from aliens, war will continue as it seems to serve the purposes of advancing civilization unfortunately.

If Obama is President do you think the GOP will be able to stop all Supreme Court nominees in the next 4 years? I don’t. They’ll compromise and we’ll have a moderate on the bench. If McCain is President do you think he’ll even get close to nominating a conservative? I don’t. He’ll compromise and we’ll have a moderate on the bench. So it’s a wash. In the meantime, behind closed doors, who do I want making decisions about many things we’ll never even hear about? It sure as $hit isn’t green and inexperienced BO and I’m not going to hand him the keys as a gamble to motivate RINOs to find a spine.

I am not a member of the “haghani circle conservative” movement that wants to destroy this country so that the “hidden conservative” shall reappear.

We are much like people drifting down the Niagara River, oblivious to the waterfalls up ahead. Once we go over those falls, we cannot come back up again.

I think that this particular vision is occurring to more and more people. Lately, I've had strangers come up to me and voice their fears. They know something wicked's coming their way, but they just can't completely put a finger on it.

You may well be right about immantentizing the eschaton. Given what we've seen of our presidential wanna-bes, it may well be better to get it on now and participate in that animated contest for liberty. With an Obama presidency, we'd see the true face of evil. Perhaps that's the wake-up call that America's sleeping patriots need.

Titus Livy, ancient Roman historian, wrote in his introduction to his History of Rome that his purpose in writing was, "to trace the progress of our moral decline, to watch, first, the sinking of foundations of morality as the old teaching was allowed to lapse, then the rapidly increasing disintegration, then the final collapse of the whole edifice, and the dark dawning of our modern day when we can neither endure our vices nor face the remedies needed to cure them."

FRiends - that dark day has almost certainly dawned here. Those who think otherwise are whistling past the graveyard. Livy was right on the money then. As he is now. What remedies do we need to rid ourselves of our modern day versions of the vices that contributed to Rome's decline and fall? And who has the courage to apply those remedies?

I have a better opinion of the man then most here it seems. McCain global warming foolishness and his dumb admission he is not strong on economics are his real weakness to get elected. Other then that, the man has been solid for 30 years. His stance on immigration was a poor choice as he simply agreed with the President whom felt we needed more slave labor and breeders for our empire. While the President is actually correct about this, his inability to explain this to the American people is a real problem. I no longer think McCain will win at this point.

So you think there are SCOTUS justices just waiting for a Democrat POTUS so they can resign?

I don't think the next 4 years are going to see any more than 2 justices either die, or resign, at the most. We may have NO justices die, or resign.
This isn't the early 19th century when the average age is 75. Thanks to medical advances there are many people that live active lives well beyond 90 years of age.
I'd be willing to bet that SCOTUS justices have a REALLY good health plan.

If you want the party of the right to move farther to the left, go ahead and reward the GOP for nominating someone left of center in almost every regard by voting for John McCain.

As a (small l) libertarian leaning conservative, I have held my nose for the last time.

Telling me that the (D) candidate is worse than the (R) candidate, when the (R) candidate is bad enough, just isn't going to swing my vote anymore.

When Dr. Sowell didn’t vote in 1972, the nuclear threat to America was far greater than it is today—that was the height of the Cold War. There was more at stake then as far as danger to America than today. Iran, or the terrorists are not going to lob over 100s of missiles at one time, like we faced 35 years ago.

So after that, it didn’t make a whole lot of sense. He didn’t vote when the threat was far greater, so why get your panties in a wad when the overall threat is less?

If President Bush does not deal militarily with Iran by December, the next President will have to. There is no choice in the matter.
