There are thousands of Russians without Jewish ancestry (”at least one ancestor” is also rather vague and hard to prove) that have entered Israel and also Germany because of favorable conditions on the pretext of being of Jewish origin. Jewish emigration offices profited from bringing large numbers of emigrants from former Soviet states, so they let in also non-Jews. It’s a rather well know problem in Israel.
The only reason I mentioned Israeli neo-nazis is to point out: If that can happen, maybe this can, too. The reports I’ve read say the Israeli neo-nazis have one parent or grandparent with “Jewish roots”. One was quoted insulting his own grandfather and vowing not to reproduce himself. Talk about confused. :-0 Maybe this “neo-nazi” group is just as confused.
But you’re right - this group probably isn’t for real. And who would want their support, anyway?
The reason I’m not as surprised at this story is that I’m so used to hearing these people twist and turn and spin everything to suit their agenda. They can convince themselves to believe just about anything.
