"Hell hath no fury like a pundit ignored."
NOW, the gloves are coming off.
But it's not Obama-Clinton or McCain-Obama. It's Amalgamated Punditry vs. Hillary Clinton.
The pundit-acracy is pissed that the former first lady ignored their advice to pack it in and just go home last night. A herd of commentators declared that Clinton would be announcing her exit from the race in her NYC speech--especially after many had proclaimed Barack Obama had clinched the Democrat nomination.
Then, Clinton's speech chain-sawed the limb off. And after they all climbed out on it so confidently.
The following video had some pundits throwing objects at the TV screen--and others throwing up.
Almost immediately, pundit after pundit jumped into the ring--after first wiping the egg from their collective faces. What did they write? Let's take a look.
The speech tonight was a remarkable one for a candidate who has lost the nomination, though not remarkable for a Clinton. It was an assertion that she had won the nomination and a refusal to concede anything to her opponent. Classless, graceless, shameless, relentless. Pure Clinton. --Andrew Sullivan
"I think Clinton may be willing to offer Obama the vice presidency." --Ezra Klein
When Richard Nixon conceded defeat after running for Governor of California in 1962 many believed we would not have Nixon to kick around any more. By laying low and campaigning for others Nixon set himself up for a comeback. Clinton is doing the opposite. By refusing to concede and giving an appalling speech where she questions the legitimacy of Obamas victory she reduces the chances of being accepted by Democrats in the future. --Ron Chusid, Liberal Values

I think she runs as an independent. She can crush Obama in the general with a "new Reagan-coalition" that leans left and saps his strength, and forces McCain to reach for his non-existent right base. She could pull this off.
I think maybe CCG forgot to include this tag:
/sarcasm
:-)
Hillary expected to be the bride but she was left at the altar. She’s madder than a wet hen.
She gotta get on fifty state ballots...without an army willing to pound on doors and stake out malls...just about an impossibility.
Bobby would vouch for that...
...if he could, that is.
“Anything can happen.”
You are SO right — especially if your last name is CLINTON! Her Heinous has 82 days (from yesterday until August 25th) to do whatever skullduggery she has planned! And believe me, she DOES have something planned! Hell hath no fury like a Hillary scorned! Someone is going to have to write a sequel to Barbara Olsen’s “Hell To Pay”. It will be a doozy!
I think it’s funny as heck.
Excellent! Let the Obama/Hilary fight continue.
Hilary doesn't need the VP ticket in an Obama train that is headed for a shattering crash in November.
Hilary is not stupid. A big Obama loss in November will set Hilary up nicely for a run in 2012, when a very old McCain is unlikely to run again.
That "Obama enough delegates" stuff, was according to the Obama water carriers at the Associalistic Press.
Remember it's the same AP that claimed yesterday that Hilary was going to concede last night(a lie).
Looks like a well orchestrated effort by the AP to bamboozle Hilary out of the race yesterday to me.
On thing is for sure for Cliton’s supporters they are getting to see the biased reporting as we have for years and they will not forget this. Since Sr citizen’s are the segment of the population that are keeping newspapers in buisness and are also Clinton supporters, this could actually accelerate the demise of the dinosaur media.
Wonder what they will say if she decides to run as an independant?
The Michelle tape could be damaging to Obama, and the Rules committee’s distributioon of the Michigan delegates makes no sense. She won almost 2-1, yet the delegates are split 59-49.
The pundits also were upset that they can’t end their assignments to cover the Witch’s campaign until she stops campaigning! They are being asked to cover the Detroit Lions while their colleagues/competitors are off to cover the Patriots and Colts. In the post-regular season.
Divorce would not cure the situation. As long as he can flap his jaws and there are tv cameras around, he’s a liability.
Now Bill may go to meet his Maker in the next year or so, one never knows.
I disagree.
The Witch could drop out gracefully and with dignity and, if *something* happens, she can ride in to the rescue without missing a beat. She can do everything she needs to do behind the scenes to remain viable until after the convention. But she can publically drop out without hurting her position.
I don’t think it was necessary to post that photo. We get the point.
Yes, but an Obambi/Witch ticket in November would be excellent as an opportunity for them both to get their be-hinds whupped, so as to rid us of them both in future contests.
I am no supporter or ally of Hillary Clinton, but as time goes by we seem to be sharing a lot of the same enemies.
>> I dont think it was necessary to post that photo. We get the point.
I’m sorry I offended you. May I ask why you’re so sensitive about it?
It’s 40 year old history. This picture was in newspapers the next day. I saw it when I was 12.
Please help me understand what problem there is in posting it.
