World welcomes Obama win

LONDON (AP) -- Excitement about Barack Obama emerged as a global phenomenon Wednesday as commentators and citizens around the world welcomed the news that he had sealed the Democratic presidential nomination.

The excitement was less about Obama's foreign policies -- which remain vague on many fronts -- than a sense that the candidacy of a black American with relatives in Africa and childhood friends in Asia marks a historic moment.

Michael Cox, a professor of international relations at the London School of Economics, said Obama's win "has sent out a lot of positive signals around the world."

"He has a very appealing persona -- elegant, fluent, strings lots of sentences together into paragraphs," Cox said. "But in terms of (his) actual policies towards the Middle East, Iraq, Iran, China, Europe -- actually, we don't know."

In Kenya, home to Obama's family on his father's side, the Kenya Times newspaper devoted its front page to Obama's victory, under the headline "Obama makes history."

Oh the AP told it was so?
Then it’s surely true!
It’s surely true that liberal MSM ,muslim and third- world medias wellcomed and emphasized the news.
AP only consider some kinds of “commentators” and “citizens”

Well, good for the world. It ain’t good for America.

Just like good news for America is BAD NEWS for the DNC when they are out of power.

And their party leaders have admitted as much.

June 4, 2008 ... " World welcomes Obama win"

November 5, 2008 ... "World goes into depression as McCain wins U.S. Presidential election."

November 6, 2008 ... "Rioting breaks out on most all Martin Luther King Blvds."

December 10, 2009 ... "Bush promises to give all M.L.K. Blvd. residents money for new homes."

January 18, 2009 ... "World blames McCain for ..." (fill in the blank)

Hey now... don’t get snippy!< / S>

Was the Ass. Press WRONG when they said that Hillary would concede on the evening of June 2nd, 2008? Huh?

Oops. Nevermind the DNC House Organ that tingles for Obama.

“Africa has had many black leaders who have “made history””

I agree with you. My point was that Europeans, and admirers of Europeans in this country, seem to believe that Europe is more advanced in race relations than the U.S.

The only difference between a leftist in New York and a leftist in Paris is that they speak different languages - they still think, act and smell the same way.

Regardless of who or where they are, they all want the same thing - a weakened America unable to influence world events and unable to come to the aid of those threatened by communism, socialism and islam, and they are confident they’ve found the answer in Obama.

I saw this headline on Yahoo and I was going to post it with a barf alert.

Yes the world’s happy, just like they were happy when lance Armstrong retired from racing. US is the envy of the rest of the world and they would love to see Obama lower the bar for everyone else by bringing America down.

God help us.

Well, good for the world. It ain’t good for America.

You're right. it's axiomatic that the world loves anything that weakens America. So if they love him, it's a sure sign that we need to be wary (not that there aren't enough other sure signs).

I think we'd survive an Obama presidency. We just need to prepare for the probable consequences. I think a good rule of thumb would be to find out what the best barter currencies are in Zimbabwe are right now, and start stocking up before he takes office.

I wouldn’t be so concerned if not for the fact that both houses are democratic. And what we have passing for conservatives do not instill any confidence in me at all. Frankly, and I don’t want to sound negative, but I can see the writing on the wall. I think that the republic is really on the down slope.

The republic's been on the "down slope" since FDR and the New Deal. It's gotten to be like watching an alky self-destruct and waiting for him to hit rock bottom.

If I were a tyrant with a good cash-for-thuggery scam going, I would welcome the prospect of an American President who would surrender to me, too. ;)
