McCain has stated he will never stoop to run a negative ad against anyone...which is precisely why we are going to be wrecked in a landslide come November.

MFH—you are certainly no troll, and your comments are spot on.

Lots of noobs here who think they know what being a conservative is all about, and have no idea the battles we have fought to battle the Clintons and libs since the 1990s.

I’ve had a few run ins with these types too.

They could learn a lot from your way cool homepage.

Glad to see you around, and keep being sane—FR needs more of it these days it seems.

"Now take your BS and try peddling your love to someone who cares."

See? Intemperate. You're really too emotional for this sort of discussion.

Don’t have one. But...I DO know it can’t be Romney. He just hasn’t connected. I like him. I think he presents a strong, mature presence. He is a very handsome man. He has a wonderful family and he is just a nice guy. However, there is something I cannot put my finger on that says: “no...his presence on the ticket will NOT help McCain as hillleree’s presence on the ticket would NOT help Obama. I THINK when it comes right down to it he will choose Lieberman. Whether or not that is wise I don’t know. However, I think McCain is McCain and he will do whateve HE wants to do. I think he will have to stop behaving in an angry way and stop speaking DOWN to everyone because sometimes his tone and his manner when he says certain thing is offensive...especially when he looks at them and says: “My friend.” He needs to be more careful. He needs an image maker.

“BELIEVE” is essential to reach American voters, too many of whom, sad to say, are going to vote based on their emotions. The “issues” are quite secondary or invisible.

Faith in government is the key theme in this year’s contest.

Could be but...the point is he HAS them. McCain needs to do something equal otherwise he is doomed.

I suppose you are right but it still makes it look like McCain ripped off the saying straight from Obama. For me, it makes his campaign look weak.

McCain is doing everything he can to try and win, including emulating Obama.

McCain made me want to throw up when he was praising Hillary and talking about being the father of three daughters and how Hillary is an inspiration for his daughters and millions of other American women.

I'm the father of two daughters, and if my daughters saw Hillary Clinton as an inspiration like John McCain's daughters apparently see her, then my wife and I would have failed in our duties as parents to give our kids a decent upbringing.

His campaign IS weak. So weak it brings tears of frustration to my eyes.

I have turned off the tv and radio because I cannot bear what stupid things he or his spokesmen say.

Tho only worse thought is the thought of Barry and Michelle ‘running’ the country.

That's what I've been saying however Bob Beckel said today on FNC he's heard that something big will be dropped tomorrow and it is scaring him a little. He's placing some validity on what he's been hearing. Said the GOP has it and was holding it until he got the nomination. See link to video in #553.

Frankly he's scaring me as well. I thought Hannity put it to rest yesterday when he said he keeps getting calls from the media about the rumor but has nothing to share.

nutmeg ping to #553.

Thanks for the Beckel link at #553... I checked it out. Has this "dropped" yet? If the Republicans do have some damaging tape of Michelle, why not wait until the fall to drop this? I'm skeptical until I see it...

I am distressed to learn that some members of my extended family (aunts, cousins), who are pro-life, regular Republican voters, and some are Rush fans, have bought into Obamamania and plan to vote for him over McCain. They are "certain" that McCain will "keep us in Iraq for 100 years". I'm just stunned at their foolishness. Looks like I'll have my work cut out for me at the next family barbeque... :-(

He did a terrible job! And he’s had all of this time out of the limelight to work on such a speech. And someone needs to tell him to stop with the full toothed phony grin.

He is capable of doing better. Some weeks ago, I watched him give a speech — can’t remember where — and he looked good and his delivery was good.

Obama just has it all over him in the charisma department. It really doesn’t matter what Obummer says; he just sounds so darned good. I keep hearing people say that McCain’s going to really put it to BHO in the debates, but how many people really watch the debates. Yes, most FReepers will, but we are political junkies. And most voters are not.

Well brace yourself. I read that McCain is now going to claim himself as the "real candidate of change".

Great, just great! He’s making it look like he has no ideas of his own so he’ll just steal Obama’s ideas.

Great, just great!
