Barack Obama effectively clinched the Democratic presidential nomination Tuesday, based on an Associated Press tally of convention delegates, becoming the first black candidate ever to lead his party into a fall campaign for the White House.
Campaigning on an insistent call for change, Obama outlasted former first lady Hillary Rodham Clinton in a historic race that sparked record turnout in primary after primary, yet exposed deep racial divisions within the party.
The AP tally was based on public commitments from delegates as well as more than a dozen private commitments. It also included a minimum number of delegates Obama was guaranteed even if he lost the final two primaries in South Dakota and Montana later in the day.
The 46-year-old first term senator will face Sen. John McCain of Arizona in the fall campaign to become the 44th president.

"The 46-year-old first term senator will face Sen. John McCain of Arizona in the fall campaign to become the 44th president." Sounds like the AP already crowned Obama as President?

The problem is that the Super Delegates don’t count until they actually vote. This isn’t over. The AP saying it is doesn’t make it over.

Hillary to release Michelles whitey tape during nObamas victory speech tomorrow? That would mean the Democrats lose just about all of their support from blacks unless they can make it look like those evil Republicans did it.

The AP tally was based on public commitments from delegates as well as more than a dozen private commitments.
Private commitments aren't commitments at all in the political world, and not a whole lot more can be said for public ones.
Now, I'm not saying it's at all likely that Hillary will pull it off, but it's a bit premature to say that Obama has "clinched" anything.

AP is whistling past the graveyard. The Super D’s can change votes right up until the floor vote in Denver.
This is not over yet. Expected Clinton victories today in South Dakota and Montana will further bolster the argument that Obama has not fared well since Rev. Wright.
And the Witch has a looooooonnnggg memory.

This is a little premature. Hillary does not ever quit. Nothing is certain until they vote on the floor.

Well since their bogus story about Hillary conceding did not happen, the AP will concede for Hillary.

I don’t believe AP. MSM has been predicting an obamaesque win for months now. Here’s wishing that the hildebeast pulls an extraordinary white rabbit out of the hat. What a joke on MSM and all the others that predicted her downfall. Hang in there, girl!

Hillary will be the nominee. And she will kick McDole’s @ss in the general. The Clinton machine will allow nothing less. So many here have such short memories of the power they command.....
As Costner said in JFK (horribly-acted and accented): “We’re through the looking glass here people!”
Broken record....... Broken record......... Broken record...
