There are people in this world who believe that America is a force for evil in the world. They are called Europeans.
Then there are people who feel the same way, but who will help elect the next president of the United States.
Theyre called Obama supporters.
Calm down, my Cambridge friends. I am not saying that Sen. Barack Obama hates America. But even his most ardent supporters must admit - when they arent fainting away at his campaign appearances - that there is a direct and disturbing correlation between hating America and loving Barack.
In Europe, for example, they absolutely adore Obama. According to a new poll in the London Telegraph, Europeans in five of the wealthiest nations support Obama over Sen. John McCain by a whopping 52 percent to 15 percent. The same poll found a majority of these same Europeans view America as a force for evil in the world.
Coincidence, or something more?
Europeans are currently prohibited from voting in U.S. elections (despite repeated legislative proposals by Sen. John Kerry). But it must occur to even the most obtuse observer that sentiments about Americas evil impact on the world are commonly heard on this side of the Atlantic as well - particularly by Chicago churchgoers.
Theres no reason to revisit the hate-fueled paranoia of the Rev. Jeremiah Wright. And nobody familiar with Obamas now-former adviser, the Rev. Michael Pfleger, was surprised to hear him ranting about Americas white supremacy or that America is the greatest sin against God.
What is worthy of comment is that finally, after 20 years in a church that specializes in preaching the anti-American tenets of black liberation theology, Obama has decided its time for him to leave. Was it because, as a proud American, he could no longer listen to preachers trashing the land that he loves?
No. Its because he is tired of every time something is said in the church by anyone associated with Trinity, the remarks will be imputed to me even if they totally conflict with my long-held views, statements and principles.
One day a gifted theologian will explain to me how Obama could spend 20 years listening to sermons that totally conflict with his long-held views. But any layman can ask, with good reason, why it is that so many people who think so little of America are working so hard to elect Barack Obama our president.
Perhaps it has something to do with that word our.
Yesterday on my radio show, a caller named Rich defended Obamas membership at Trinity this way:
That church is right. White people in America are privileged, just like Japanese people are privileged in Japan. This is you guys country. It aint our country.
Dont blame me, its not my America, says Rich.
And when he does, I hear echoes of other Obama supporters - Bill Ayers, Louis Farrakhan, Michelle Obama. They dont see America as our nation - great, but flawed - but rather someone elses country. It is simply a lost land waiting for these cultural outsiders to redeem it - and to heal our souls.
Only then will they embrace America as their nation, a nation they can finally be proud of for the first time.
I listened to Richs call, and my heart fell. What happened to Obamas campaign of unity? Instead, weve got the you guys who believe America is a great nation that can be better still - vs. the ours who see no greatness at all, only a force for evil that must be changed from its wicked ways.
I have something for Rich, and for any other citizen who refuses to embrace America as your own because you dont think its good enough for you.
Its called a bus ticket.
He’s been endorsed by Fidel Castro, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, and Hamas.
That should be enough to confirm what the article states.
That's awfully charitable.
Me, I think they see it as a lost land waiting for them to loot it dry.
He’s got Castro, Admadena-nutjob and hamas proudly behind him.
The rest of the America haters are already in the Obombo band wagon.
“Its called a bus ticket.”
Fine, but I would rather offer, “blindfold or not?”
Yes, but if you offered them a cigarette, I can just hear them: "What, are you trying to do, kill me with cancer or something?"
How do you tell somebody in a stinking war zone that smoking can kill him????
Despite all this, which should be apparent to all, its now almost certain that he’ll be the candidate. Extraordinary.
That statement is pure crap and drivel from a loser that will not get off his ass and grab the unlimited opportunity this country will give ANYONE.
I am a pharmacist and also happen to be white. My boss is black and he earns about ten thousand more dollars a year than I and he should earn more. My fellow staff pharmacists are black, white, and brown. Our wages are based on how we perform our jobs. All of us do pretty damn good! Our original citizenships are quite varied and as follows; USA, United Kingdom, Nigeria, Jordan, Vietnam, etc. In our hospital we do not care where you are from. We care if you can do the job and take care of our patients!
I love it that Mrs. Obama makes almost $400K as a “Vice President, Community and External Affairs” at the University of Chicago Hospitals, yet this country is “mean.” Please explain to us what exactly that is and why it pays so much...
Obamalamadingdong ought to run for President of Europe.
Nobody's keeping you here, pal. When you're gone, there will be a long line of people hoping to take your place.
ping to me for later
Obama said he Resigned from his Church because to much attention is being focused on it and it Bothers him . He is not going to Denounce his church however.
I want to ask Obamba this ,When the Election is over and God forbid you have won ,are you going to rejoin the Same Church ?
Now there's a name I haven't heard in awhile. Not that I'm complaining.
Back in February, I had to take a trip from Kansas City to NY, and I had a connecting flight in Dallas (don't ask...). Anyway, I had the most enlightening conversation: DFW is a hugh airport, and due to some terrible knee problems, I had to be taken on one of those golf-cart-like vehicles from one terminal to another. The gentleman who drove me was originally from Nigeria had just received his US citizenship. Of course my first words were "congratulations and welcome!" But in the 10 or so minutes we were together, we spoke about politics and the US. We constantly hear that the rest of the world hates us. We hear how terrible the US is. And unfortunately, we see the terrible job that the US government education system does in educating the next generations: If anything they're poisoning the minds of our young to hate the US. However, there IS hope for the US, and it's through legal immigration, by people who want to become part of what is the "American Dream." People like this gentleman who took nearly 16 years from the start of his journey to become an American, and loves what this country is, and wants to become a part of its future.
I'd like to introduce this gentleman to "Rich." I think that this Black American citizen from Nigeria could teach him something about who's country it really is.

Dont blame me, its not my America, says Rich.
Hey Rich!
The last time I heard, there's a country that's been reorganizing itself along racial lines: It's called Zimbabwe. Richard Mugabe's been doing a really bang up job... Nearly everybody there is a multi-millionaire! Maybe you should think about heading there, since it sounds like that's the sort of country you would like to live in.
