A Clinton donor tells me that on a conference call today with major fundraisers this afternoon, Harold Ickes told them Clinton isn't planning to drop out. He pressed donors to stay unified, and reviewed tactical options, including challenging the Michigan delegation.
State finance committees are also circulating letters to deliver to Clinton tomorrow in New York, and I've obtained a draft of the Illinois finance committee's letter, being circulated by a Clinton fundraising aide, Rafi Jafri, which stresses a fight until the convention, and a resolution in "August, and no earlier."
We, the Illinois Finance Committee, want to show our full commitment to and support for Senator Hillary Clinton, in the fight for her rightful appointment as the Democratic Partys presidential nominee at the convention this August.
We believe she is, by far, the best candidate of the three, and the candidate most able to turn the ailing economy around, solve the housing crisis, end the war in Iraq and defeat the terrorists in Afghanistan, bring universal healthcare to our citizens, and finally make our country energy independent.
We also know she is the Democratic candidate best able to beat John McCain in the fall. One thing we are certain of is that the Republicans are good at winning elections. We, as Democrats, allowed them to win the last two contests, and we cannot afford to let that happen again.
Senator Clinton is ahead in the popular vote, and neither candidate can secure the nomination with pledged delegates alone. The automatic delegates can change their mind up until their vote at the convention, and that is why this nominating process must be resolved in August, and no earlier.
We Democrats will be united after our nomination process is completed, but only if that process is completed justly and in fair representation of the opinions of the members of our party. We believe nominating Hillary Clinton is the only way our party can guarantee victory in November.
A lady in our office will either not vote or vote for McCain. She is one PO’d Democrat and lets everyone know it.
We hear a lot of this now, but it's a long way to November. Assuming Obama is the candidate, I wonder if the GOP has the skill to keep this fire of defiance burning hotly enough to affect actual 'rat voting behavior.
Ir looks like Rush’s endorsement of Hillary is working.
Ickes is the head scumbag for the Clintons of New York but this has the ring of posturing. Rumor is that Shrillary is negotiating on her debt thought to be up to $40 million!
And the inside word is that it’s not the VP slot she’s after, but money.
That sounds like the Shrillary I know.
Indeed. All praise to Operation Chaos!

I think as far as the Clinton supporters go, Obama will keep them mad and riled because the farther into the campaign, they will say “I told you so. Hitlery would have been the better candidate”, etc.
Our side must do everything to put Obama on the Defensive.
The fact that socialist Democrats are at least considering voting for McCain is more proof he is a socialist.
OPERATION CHAOS, the job McIDIOT won't do!!
Congratulations on your win in Puerto Rico Hillary I...
Are you giving in yet?
Why no ...
Call back when you do.

lol
If Hillary can get her financial problem solved...she’ll give it up, but not before. Follow the $$$$$$$$!

Sounds like team KKKlintler is convinced the Obama baggage-management effort is going to falter if she can hang in for another month or so.
Oh, let it go already. Tell us something we don't know. However, if the events of the past five days don't tell you what you need to know in November there is no hope for you.
As much as it pains me to say it, I admire Hillary’s spirit and work ethic. It seems to me that Obama has been going through the motions the last several weeks, letting the power brokers within the party do all of the heavy lifting along with his PR folks, because I sure haven’t seen him out stumping.
On that note, I think Obama is our best bet at getting the White House, because I don’t think Sen McCain could beat Hillary at this point. I used to believe we would see a huge grassroots movement if Hillary were the candidate, but the only thing I have been witnessing within the Republican party is apathy.
Why are you linking us to an article almost a month back?
Not sure of the impact of this but someone may do an objective view of it.
Here in NJ, I voted for my own version of Op Chaos and that was for Obama.
The numbers I’ve seen in some places don’t provide any conclusion on the impact of said Op Chaos.
He was right when it was written, and he's right now! Those that doubted Operation Chaos should admit that it has worked better than anyone could have foretold. Without Hillary still in the race, do you think the voters would know who Jeremiah Wright, Michael Pfleger or any of his other associate are?
this just boggles the imagination:
“We believe she is, by far, the best candidate of the three, and the candidate most able to turn the ailing economy around, solve the housing crisis, end the war in Iraq and defeat the terrorists in Afghanistan, bring universal healthcare to our citizens, and finally make our country energy independent.”
how would hillary turn our ailing economy around?
she didn’t did didley for those upstate nyer’s she promised a new economy in 2000.
This means that Hillary’s internal polling match with ARGs, and they expect some surprise results in the primaries tomorrow.
