“FOLLOWING YOFFIE’s lead, Democratic activists desperate to find a Republican counterpart to Wright, focused their fire on Hagee. They attacked him for anti-homosexual remarks he has made. And they grossly distorted remarks he made on historical Christian anti-Semitism to portray him as an enemy of the Catholic church. Then too, they attacked him for a sermon he gave where he argued that the Holocaust was God’s way of getting the Jews to Israel and so absurdly implied that a man who has devoted his professional life to improving Jewish-Christian relations, ending Evangelical Christian drives to convert Jews and supporting Israel is an anti-Semite.

The Democratic Jewish charge against Hagee compelled McCain to reject Hagee’s endorsement, and so drove another wedge between McCain and the Republican voting Christian Right. It also successfully created an illusion of symmetry between Wright and Hagee.”

Yep. Even a lot of Freepers fell for it hook, line, and sinker. Hagee is not out-of-the-maistream. He is also not anti-Semite or anti-Catholic.

Hagee misrepresents who Christ is and what he came to do.

“It is finished.” ~ Christ

“It is not finished.” ~ Hagee

After a brief kerfuffle instigated by the media ("Hey, let's you an' him fight!") Bill Donohue got a clue, buried the hatchet and proclaimed peace & understanding with Pastor Hagee --- much to his credit.

I hang my head and admit I was taken in by the Hagee-in-the-devil meme for awhile. I need to have it tattooed on my arm: Don't trust the EneMedia --- ever.

FR is full of people who absolutely hate and detest all white Southern Fundamentalist Protestants (every bit as much as Obama does), and they stick their ugly faces out to illustrate it every so often.

There were numerous comparisons of Rev. Hagee and his son to "wallowing pigs" that I alone seemed to challenge that which were never apologized for. Even among conservatives rural Southern white Fundamentalist Protestants are the one unprotected ethno-cultural group that may be pummeled without mercy.

McCain is weak kneed jello - man, he needs to have someone examine his head for any tell tale signs of a brain.

Yes, you are absolutely right on that..

Shame, shame! on the leftists, just throw Israel under the bus.

Hagee has a love for Israel hardly seen by most Jews on the left! There should never be a two state solution, the Pali's need to go back to the countries that threw them out in the first place!

Well, as a Catholic I must say that what he has said about the Catholic Church is not much different than what one hears from Liberals. If he is anti-Catholic, he is pretty much in the mainstream of opinion. As to his comments about the Holocaust, what he said is consistent with the Prophets who saw Nebuchanezzar as the instrument of God.
