As I said on my previous post, the idea that rural white Southern Fundamentalist Protestants are sub-human savages who peel the skins off everyone "not like them" before they "hang them on lampposts" is a d@mned lie by hypocrites who wring their hands over the way the coastal elites used to depict the Indians. How ironic--the same coastal elites who were afraid to venture inland for fear of "the merciless redskin savage" have simply replaced him with the evil, violent redneck.
If you have ever seen that one notorious episode of "The X-Files" (which would never have been written about members of any other group) then you surely understand the hypocrisy and cruelty of anti-rural Southern WASF prejudice. If you've ever seen the ep and still don't understand then there's no hope for you.
Rural Southern WASF's may be unprotected in the outside world but there is simply no excuse for the kind of abuse they were subject to during the Hagee flap. I make myself a promise (beli neder) to try to get such bigots banned from now on, because they're no different from any other kind of bigot. It may not work that way in the outside world, but it sure as blazes should work that way on a conservative forum!!!
