I hang my head and admit I was taken in by the Hagee-in-the-devil meme for awhile. I need to have it tattooed on my arm: Don't trust the EneMedia --- ever.
I’m a Catholic. I usually agree with the Catholic League, but I thought they overreacted to Hagee’s endorsement of McCain, and I thought Hagee’s apology was just fine. It was not weasel worded like most such apologies.
I don’t expect Baptist ministers to endorse the Catholic Church, although I hope we can work together on matters we agree on, such as the right to life. Hagee fell for the liberal Jewish line that Pius XII and the papacy are enemies of Israel, but he corrected himself, which is more than you can say about the usual leftist suspects who spread these lies.
As for Benedict XVI, maybe they should elect him President of Israel, because he sure understands the politics of the situation better than “Olmert-Livni-Barack-Yishai.”

John Hagee doesn't even proselytize Jews. This was supposed to be the one big issue with chr*stian Zionists. But that wasn't good enough for Jewish liberals. Jewish liberals even discovered a previously very well hidden love for the Catholic Church in order to bash him.
Jewish liberals hate Hagee and (to a lesser degree) other chr*stian Zionists because the still see Jews as Biblical Israelites rather than as left wing free-thinking dissidents to chr*stianity whose persecution is the number one historical reason for "tolerance," "pluralism," and "multiculturalism." This is why there has been such a massive campaign to destroy the memory of Sinai (whose 3320th anniversary is next week) and replace it with Auschwitz, even to the point of criminalizing disbelief in it (and it is only fundamental religious truths whose denial is criminalized).
Hagee, chr*stian Zionists, Noachides, and (please G-d) Orthodox Jews still define Jewishness by the original Torah standards and see history as moving to a pre-destined end under G-d's guidance to the Kingdom of G-d on earth when there will be no need for secular democracy or "freedom of religion" because all false religions will have been forsaken for the glorious and obvious Truth. The "liberal Zionist" vision of Israel as a secular democratic state born out of persecution by "religious fanatics" and whose number one goal is voting rights for Arab women is absolutely pathetic in comparison.
Let it be noted that, while he believes J*sus is the Jewish messiah, Hagee has actually been attacked as a heretic by other chr*stians (including here at FR) because he believes there is no official "messiah" until all the Davidic prophecies have been fulfilled (in comparison to traditional chr*stianity, which holds that all messianic prophecies were fulfilled two thousand years ago in a "spiritual" (non-literal) manner. But liberal Jews don't simply object to J*sus as a messiah--they reject the very idea of a real Davidic messiah who rules the world and compels all peoples to forsake false "gxds" for the True One. They have twisted the meaning of Jewishness to make it seem that Judaism's very quintessence is the freedom to practice idolatry and atheism.
No wonder "liberal Zionists" hate Hagee, chr*stian Zionists, and Noachides. We know Israel's true identity and it ain't Einstein. It's more like Caleb the Theocratic Warrior-Goatherd!

There were numerous comparisons of Rev. Hagee and his son to "wallowing pigs" that I alone seemed to challenge that which were never apologized for. Even among conservatives rural Southern white Fundamentalist Protestants are the one unprotected ethno-cultural group that may be pummeled without mercy.

As I said on my previous post, the idea that rural white Southern Fundamentalist Protestants are sub-human savages who peel the skins off everyone "not like them" before they "hang them on lampposts" is a d@mned lie by hypocrites who wring their hands over the way the coastal elites used to depict the Indians. Shalom! I for one am a Southerner, and a Jew, and a personal friend of Pastor Hagee. He once told me it is of no value to proselytize to the Jewish people and that is not his duty, that his duty and love is to take care of Israel with all his being. He is as dedicated to the preservation and well being of the Jews of the Home Land as any one on the planet. He is sincere as the day is long!
