Clinton spokesperson Mo Elleithee came to the back of the press plane as Clinton flew from Rapid City to Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
He was asked about Clinton's definition of when a nominee would be determined - because she has refused to accept the new 2,118 delegates number that the Democratic Party says is needed to clinch the nomination.
"I think its pretty clear that she is not conceding." Elleithee said, "I think its pretty clear that she is staying in this race. She is going, in the coming days, to be aggressively courting uncommitted superdelegates aggressively courting unpledged delegates, making the case to them that she is a candidate best ready to take on John McCain."
...He continued until there is a nominee we are going to still work to become that nominee. When asked when they would determine a nominee would be selected - because the Clinton campaign has refused to accept fully the 2,118 number - Elleithee said, we're exploring -- she has said before she wants to have this to be resolved before the convention -- we are reviewing our options.
Eliethee continued, We do not expect that a nominee will be clear tomorrow night she is mostly going to be working the phones and meeting with these delegates."
When asked why Clinton was spending tomorrow in New York at an event the campaign is calling a "victory party," Clintons spokesperson said, its a good way to close out this phase of the campaign is come to New York bring all of her supporters together, have a big celebratory election night party as we move into the next phase of the campaign which is obviously the courting of these delegates.

Can you imagine the complete, utter chaos if the superdelegates were to switch over to Hillary now? Oh how those Obama zombies would be howling. Regardless of which one of them ultimately comes out on top, there are going to be a lot of awfully angry lefties out there pretty soon.
More popcorn, indeed.
I admire Hillary for her tenacity. If some of the Republicans running in the primaries would have had this same fighting spirit we might not be stuck with Juan the anti-Republican for our nominee.

Amen to that. I think that she has learned some hard lessons here, maybe she will become human...wouldn't that be something.
“Clinton spokesperson Mo Elleithee”
Is this the same Mohammed Elleithee who used to be Gov. Tim Kaine’s spokesperson? There’s only a handful of references on the web to his real name!

I’d be absolutely stunned if Hillary concedes anytime soon and IF she does, you can bet that she’s doing it in order to set herself up for 2012. Party unity my...well, you know.
If she does that, then Obama will give the green light to the uncommitted superdelegates to announce their support for him making it impossible for Hillary to get the nomination. It is a done deal. I am sure Obama thru the DNC is putting the pressure on Hillary to concede asap after the last primary. There is no way that this is going to the convention for a decision. We will know the Dem nominee before the convention.
“Of course she “is not conceding”. She dug into her own money to the tune of 6 or 7 million bucks recently to keep things going, and the clintoons like their money.”
That’s the most convincing argument I have heard all day.
“I was wondering why the hammer thrower had Obamas logo on her shirt.”
Because someone Obamite spoofed an old ad for Apple Computer.
She won’t concede. The MSM have been praying for a concession for months. The latest article says she is dissolving her staff; sending them home and will give a speech tomorrow. Well, duh. The primary season is at an end.
She will fight this to and thru the convention. Anyone who thinks otherwise may want to invest in some Tylenol.
“If she does that, then Obama will give the green light to the uncommitted superdelegates to announce their support for him making it impossible for Hillary to get the nomination.”
It all means nothing until the final vote has been cast at the convention. Bribes, threats, coercion will all come into play regardless of declared loyalty.
Not clear they could get away with that after the convention. Who is the “controlling legal authority”? It may devolve to the state Dem parties at that point. I doubt the national DNC has any ability to force Idaho to put Hillary on the ballot. Idaho probably has a rule that says the “candidate winning in the convention we voted to send delegates to ... shall be listed on the ballot”. Why are they obligated to replace him w/ who Howard Dean says on Oct. 1?
No, they can’t change after the convention, short of a death (and even that may be “tough luck”).
That’s more like them.
Don’t be wimps Ickes, Blumenthall and Grunwald. Take it to the mat (floor) in Denver. No delegate votes have been counted yet.
Just when you thought it couldn't get any more fun . . .
I need to buy stock in Orville Redenbacher.
Declarations are meaningless with these democRATS anyway. So until the votes are counted on In August in Denver and on TV, its zero-zero among the zeros.
bttt
LoL!
