Question if ya have time ...... If Obama gets the nomination. He then names a VP . If something happens too Obama is the Hildebeast brought back as the DNC’s POTUS Nominee or does the VP choice selected by Obama take the lead as POTUS nominee for the DNC ?
How does that work or is supposed too work ?
I don’t know all the answers, but if Obama is officially nominated by the convention and a VP also, not Hillary but someone else, and then afterwards Obama cannot finish out the election, the Dems would have to choose someone and that could be anybody.
I’m not certain who would make the selection...maybe the DNC made up of state representatives to the national committee...I don’t know. But an official Dem organization would have to make it.
It could be Hillary. Could be Al Gore. It probably would not be whomever Obama picked for VP, unless Obama picks someone more “stellar” than expected.
It gets very complicated and can vary state to state because, remember, we do not actually elect the candidate, but the electors, how long before the election it happens affects it, what if it happens after the election but before the inauguration????? etc.....
There are probably DNC “rules” but in the real world, Hillary would be undoubtedly brought back.
It would be a real mess.
But then as txrangerette asks, what about AlGore?
Good question.
He could be “above” all the mess.
