Iranian Daily To Government: West Has Impression That Anti-Iran Report Won’t Cause It Losses

In an editorial, the reformist Iranian daily Aftab-e Yazd called on the government of Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad to stop its expressions of satisfaction with the recent IAEA report, which it is doing for domestic purposes.

The paper said that the West has gotten the impression that the anti-Iran report won’t cause it any losses.

The following is a summary of the daily reports broadcast by the IMB’s Piracy Reporting Centre to ships in Atlantic, Indian and Pacific Ocean Regions on the SafetyNET service of Inmarsat-C from 10 to 16 June 2008.

ALERT

Chittagong anchorage, Bangladesh
The number of attacks has reduced since 2006. However, the area is still listed as a high risk area and mariners are advised to be cautious especially while approaching the anchorage and while at anchor at Chittagong

Nigeria
Violent attacks carried out by pirates on board vessels at anchor and vessel carrying out STS operations. Mariners are advised to exercise extreme caution in these waters.

13.06.2008: 2354 LT: 22:13.8N - 091:44.3E, Chittagong Outer Roads Anchorage ‘B’, Bangladesh.
Six robbers in a long wooden boat with outboard engine boarded a container ship at anchor. They stole ship’s stores and property and escaped. Port control informed.

13.06.2008: 0230 LT: 20:53.84N - 107:15.66E, Port Campha Inner Anchorage, Vietnam.
Robbers in a small boat boarded a general cargo ship at anchor. They stole ship’s stores from the forecastle deck and escaped. Duty AB on patrol noticed a fishing boat in the vicinity. Authorities informed.
