ISOF capture two suspected Special Groups criminals in
separate operations in Baghdad
Multi-National Corps Iraq PAO
BAGHDAD Iraqi Special Operations Forces captured two suspected Special Groups criminals in separate operations in Baghdad, June 13.
The ISOF conducted an operation to detain a suspected Special Groups criminal reportedly responsible for kidnapping, murder and other criminal activities. His cell is said to have murdered the brother of an ISOF soldier and is responsible for improvised explosive device emplacements and small arms fire attacks against Iraqi and Coalition forces.
Three other men were detained during the operation.
In another operation, ISOF detained a suspected Special Groups criminal reportedly responsible for attacks against Iraqi and Coalition forces. He is also said to have provided weapons, including rocket propelled grenades, to other criminals.
Iraqi Special Operations Forces continues to seek out those operating outside the law in order to bring security and stability to Iraq, said Lt. Col. Neil Harper, a spokesman for MNC-I.
