WASHINGTON — President Bush on Monday presented the nation's highest military award to a young soldier killed in Iraq when he threw himself on a hand grenade tossed into a Humvee where four other soldiers sat.

Ross McGinnis of Knox, Pa., was 19 years old when he gave his life to save the lives of his colleagues.

"The Medal of Honor is the nation's highest military distinction," the president said. "It's given for valor beyond anything that duty could require or a superior could command."

Bush was joined at a White House ceremony by Vice President Dick Cheney and military leaders, McGinnis' parents, Tom and Romayne, and others.

He does sometimes trip over his syllables... and then there are times when he is eloquent beyond all measure!

Not to mention he has an overt love for our servicemen and women that is very evident in the way he interacts with them and they way they respond to him. Not since Reagan has this been as evident in any leader of Congress or Executive Branch.

So far this makes 2 Congressional Medal of Honor recipients who have jumped on grenades in this war. What a choice to make...

The kind of courage and selflessness exhibited by this magnificent young man is truly extraordinary.

Just one of the reasons the Left so despises this President and Ronald Reagan also. You would be wrong if you believed the soldiers are not aware of how the liberals feel about them and the job they do for all of us. The liberals know they can never be what this man in the WH is and they are reminded of their own shortcomings each and every time they witness the great love and respect afforded him by our men and women in uniform.

Too bad Boosh doesn’t throw himself upon the eminent Socialist-Globalist threat pitted against our great nation.

God Bless you and your family dear Son of Liberty. It is with your blood that we wash the filth of oppression from ourselves. A sacrifice such as yours will forever place you at the table of our Lord. Simply said, thank you so very very much.

A fine young Marine from my neck of the woods was so honored last year. I’d like to think I had that much sand but I honestly don’t know, I’m just grateful these three did.
