Halving UN Peacekeeper Rape by the Year 2015?

In the Ivory Coast, a 13-year-old girl is gang-raped in a field by 10 UN peacekeepers , and left on the ground, bleeding, trembling and vomiting. This is part of a larger picture involving fresh allegations by a U.K.-based charity, Save the Children, of UN peacekeepers abusing children in the Ivory Coast, Haiti, and Southern Sudan. As detailed by the BBC, "the UN has said it welcomes the report, which it will study closely." Oh, great. The UN can add this report to its research collection of previous reports on UN peacekeeper rape in Liberia and Sierra Leone and the Congo and so forth; and we can look forward to more UN statements on the issue, such as Kofi Annan's "zero tolerance" policy of 2005, or his zero-zero tolerance policy of 2006 (when he "strengthened" the zero tolerance of 2005), and Assistant-Secretary-General Jane Lute's zero-zero-zero "zero tolerance" promises of 2007. The UN ought to just add these policies to its list of millenium development goals with all those other target dates and enormous numbers. You know, something like: Goal #9: Halving UN peacekeeper rape by the year 2015.

LOL...you DO know. I just re-read your post, I missed that KGB thing...:)

In the interest of historical accuracy, Alger Hiss was *not* identified by the Venona Transcripts as a KGB asset. He was identified as a GRU (Soviet Military Intelligence) asset, although that would be a distinction without much difference...

Good point. The sex slave trade apparently is booming. By the way, how many militant feminists have you seen or heard who are denouncing and fighting this evil? I suppose they have higher priorities - like getting more girls on the boys’ football team.

Excellent point. Who are these unnamed so-called peacekeepers and where are they from?? You know that if they were American, that fact would have been published immediately.

Personally, I would suggest zero tolerance of rape by UN peacekeepers, with quick trials, and long prison terms for those convicted, including those UN officials who who fail to investigate aggressively allegations of rape. But that's just unreasonable ol’ me.

Setting a goal of Halving UN Peacekeeper Rape by the Year 2015? Give me a break.

Thanks for the reminder on Alger Hiss...I just started reading the third book of what are my “Big 3” books regarding the history of the Red penetration of the US Gov, Black Listed by History...the other 2 books were The Venona Transcripts and Comrade J.
IMO, these 3 books conclusively document the takeover of this country by the Left with huge assistance from the Global Communist.

I have never read “Comrade J”, but I have read the other two, great books, especially “Blacklisted by History”.

Don’t forget to read (if you haven’t) “Witness” by Whittaker Chambers. It was the most important book (politically speaking) I have ever read. And it bears on this subject.

"Imagine if UN peace keepers were stationed on our soil looking for illegal weapons ......"

There would be huge numbers of empty blue helmets being used as souvenir chamberpots...

A few years ago one US troop sued to prevent himself from being involuntarily assigned to UN duties, and lost the case.

“We are still infested by the traitors and if we get a DRat prez we will only survive via armed resistance!”

And the new D-rat wife supposedly is on tape with Farakhan in a “Get Whitey” speech!
