The issue I DO Have is that if a white says something hinting at even the slightest racist tone towards a black it is considered worse than murder (think Imus) but if a black does it, somehow they are to be understood because they have been repressed, oppressed, depressed, whatever.

Exactly. Look at what gyrations Trent Lott had to do, all the black shows he had to go on and prostrate himself. Maybe Michelle could carry Lord Stanley's cup out onto the ice or host the Country Music Awards.
