I saw this yesterday. Obama said he needed to leave Trinity in order to relieve the church of scrutiny during his presidential campaign. They are looking for a new church. A reporter asked something like, Well, won’t your new church have the same problem? Obama stumbled and stammered on the question. He was terrible during the speech. He looked like a complete bafoon.

I think it is only fair to include every “um” and “uh” this idiot spouts. Editing them out makes him seem more fluid and sure in his delivery.
He may “read” articulate but he sure as hell AIN'T articulate.

"How will that not be different when you join another church?"Well, let's see. He could join an actual Christian church which teaches the Gospel and joins together to worship God, rather than one which is based on "black liberation theology" and screams "hate whitey!" and "G-damn America!" from the pulpit. For example, have we ever heard anything negative about Pres. Bush's church? Or VP Cheney's?

On the other hand, we also don't want a church subjected to the scrutiny that a presidential campaign legitimately undergoes.Hey Asshat! The stop using the pulpit as a Political stump!

Sounds to me like win or lose, good chance Obama and family will be returning to Trinity Church once the campaign is over.

Brak sez “I don't want Reverend Moss to have to look over his shoulder and see that his sermon vets or if its potentially problematic for my campaign”
Yeah, that's a bad thing when a preacher has to change his message because it doesn't “vet.” If Obama and his preacher only had some kind of guidebook, seems like they wouldn't have to worry about vetting the message. Darn that scrutiny. The church needs to beef up security at the door.

Obama joined this church, probably, for three reasons:
1) To make connections with the black community and black power leaders in Chicago, where he planned to run for office.
2) To be able to say that he is a “member of a Christian church” if anyone asks him if he is a Muslim.
3) Because he is a black-power, white-hating ideologue himself, no different from Louis Farrakhan or Rev. Wright (also formerly a Black Muslim). He hates Whitie too, but he’s better at hiding it because he has a different plan.
