I have only listened to the first 30 minutes, but this seems to be right on target. I will be interested in seeing FReeper comments.

Yes Sir, No Sir.
(period) - Cops talk to the prosecutors and we've seen where the prosecutors are headed.

It is a foolish man who believes his innocence alone will protect him from overzealous police and or prosecutors.

If this is what I’m pretty sure it is, I saw it about a week ago. Someone had posted it on another thread. Completely spot on. With all the malicious prosecutions out there (Duke Lacrosse is the most obvious recent case), there’s just no reason to talk to the authorities without lawyering up first. They lost my cooperation long ago, unless there’s a non-prosecution agreement in place. That world is gone.
This issue was discussed at length by Jerry Pournelle around the time of the Martha Stewart prosecution. I found it interesting that this guy uses her as a prime example.

If you talk you’re guilty - if you don’t you must be guilty.
Never let one look in your car or enter your home without a warrant specifying what they’re looking for. It gives them the right to search for anything - or plant something in order to make an arrest quota for drugs or anything ..... if stopped and a search is requested, demand their supervisor be present .... lock the car and sit down on the curb (this from a lawyer friend of mine).

This is very good advice.
If you even think you're suspected of any crime whatsoever, say absolutely nothing and more importantly believe absolutely NOTHING they say to you.

Scooter Libby is another one who should have weighed the consequences of talking with a special prosecutor or testifying before a grand jury. If he had taken the fifth he would have had to resign. However, he would not have been convicted of a felony and run up horrendous legal bills.
As I recall, there was a justice department attorney who was going to be subpoened to testify before Congress after Libby was convicted. She saw and understood so she took the fifth. She had to resign, but she didn't have to run up bankrupting legal bills either.

If they want to ask me anything, ANYTHING, it will be in the presence of my attorney.
Otherwise I have no intent nor legal obligation to speak to any representative of law enforcement without counsel present.
I'll have my protections in place before they start playing pin the crime on the perp, thank you.

No habla englais senor! Sorry, the police have evidence that you do indeed speak English. You've just interferred with a police investigation by lying. What's the jail sentence for that?

Let me ask this: Why have police officers or law enforcement?
Obviously you don't need them, and you could save a lot of tax money.
