Attending a talk by Kwame Toure, formerly known as Stokely Carmichael of the SNCC and the Black Panthers, he finds Marxists of various stripes shouting at one another, as the meeting descends into chaos. Obama says it 'was like a bad dream' and concludes in despair that 'the movement had died years ago, shattered into a thousand fragments'.

As the New York Times put it: 'He moved from his leftist Hyde Park base to more centrist circles; he forged early alliances with the good-government reform crowd only to be embraced later by the city's all-powerful Democratic bosses; he railed against pork-barrel politics but engaged in it when needed; and he empathised with the views of his Palestinian friends before adroitly courting the city's politically potent Jewish community.'

Looking over Obama's relatively brief political career, it's hard not to reach the conclusion that the probable next 'leader of the free world' has not led anything of significance to date. Part of the reason is that he always seemed to move on to a new role before even accomplishing much.

It is going to be fun watching the RNC destroy him. It will be just as much fun watching the Hilary supporters screaming “I told you so” at those stupid enough to vote for hussein obama in the primary.
I can see where Obama is an interesting individual - with a compelling personal story of self-awakening and straddling his black & white ancestry.
That is not sufficient reason to award him the leadership of the free World.
His selection as the DEM candidate has been more like picking out a puppy rather than vetting a President.

Well, he is a candidate that has never been vetted. I thought John Kerry was unvetted, but Obama is even worse.

Isn’t it remarkable that the media can literally create a potential president of the US? Combined with the Chicago dem machine, of course. And a candidate with absolutely no talent, no knowledge, no credentials...a real danger to the country. The left is happy with an empty suit who will do its bidding.

No, sadly it is not. The media has been destroying our Executive, Legislative and Judicial representation for the past half century - one Conservative at a time.
Creating an illusion is a lot easier.
I grew up in the Chicago area. I went to college in Chicago. I have friends in Illinois politics and in Illinois law enforcement. Without a doubt, one cannot become a major political player in Chicago without being a crook and without being under the influence of the crooks who control Illinois politics.
The political power structure in Illinois learned a great deal from the Chicago mafia, and by the 1950's had taken over the control of Chciago and Illinois using mafia-like methods.
When Obama becomes President, he will be controlled by the Chicago political power structure.
