Reverberations from the Sunday sermon of a Roman Catholic priest who mocked Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton at Senator Barack Obamas home church here continued to spread Friday, after the priest offered an apology and the archbishop of Chicago gave him a public reprimand for partisan campaigning.
In a guest appearance at Trinity United Church of Christ, the priest, the Rev. Michael Pfleger, who resigned about two weeks ago from an unpaid position on the Obama campaigns Catholic advisory council, delivered a tirade against Mrs. Clinton that included fake tears, a high-pitched voice and top-of-the-lungs screaming. He also gave a racially tinged critique of so-called white entitlement, of which he says Mrs. Clinton is guilty.
When Hillary was crying, and people said that was put on I really dont believe it was put on, said Father Pfleger, 59, the white pastor of a predominantly black South Side church. I really believe that she just always thought: This is mine. Im Bills wife, Im white and this is mine. I just got to get up and step into the plate. And then, out of nowhere, came, Hey, Im Barack Obama. And she said, Oh, damn. Where did you come from? Im white. Im entitled. Theres a black man stealing my show.
Father Pfleger, a well-known longtime activist and friend of Mr. Obama, issued an apology late Thursday. I regret the words I chose on Sunday. These words are inconsistent with Senator Obamas life and message, and I am deeply sorry if they offended Senator Clinton or anyone else who saw them.
The Clinton campaign repeated on Friday, for a second day, its displeasure with how Mr. Obama has handled the situation, calling for him to reject Father Pfleger more forcefully.

Did I miss anything? (Left out arugula ‘cuz I don't like it!)
It appears that through the years Obama has held his nose and befriended various clergy of different faiths in the Chicago area. They were, of course, extreme radical the best he could, but still served their purpose and that was to get votes, but the more insidious reason, I believe, was to mainstream himself and hide his ties to the Muslim faith. Now, “the chickens are coming home to roost.”
The bit looked funny as hell to me and probably "right on the money". If it had been on Saturday Night Live, the guy would have been a star. But with everybody falling all over each other to try to appear "politicall correct" and non-racial, and nobody wanting to miss a chance to bash somebody about something, the media all get their shorts in a wad over nothing.
Lighten up people.
I’m not a Catholic, but I also heard called for the killing of a gunshop owner. That “priest” is as dangerous as the other disaster pastor, the “rev” wrong.
He wasn’t funny at all. He was leading a racist tirade against whites (conveniently neglecting the fact that he himself is white). The Hillary part was stupid; but even then, he wasn’t attacking her for her positions, but simply for being white.
The blacks who were lapping this stuff up looked like absolute fools. Oh, yes, the sack-like, limp-haired white liberal women in the audience - who no doubt also think they’re black - also looked like absolute fools. Seeing people high-fiving each other over this racist garbage was just insane, and no laughing matter at all.
I'll bet that a number of black churches have "ministers" who think and spew the same vile racist hatred every service. You could use over half the congregations in major ghetto areas and find the same if not worse hatred of whites. I am NOT joking.
“My thoughts as well and ex-commincate the fool. Watch his kinesis and speech patterns.”
The whole thing makes me wonder....since Pfleger is obviously rabidly pro-Obama, how does he feel about abortion? Obama is clearly the most pro-abortion presidential candidate in history. What is his position? I would bet my bottom dollar that it’s not in keeping with the Church.
The Spirit of Vatican II.
He deserves to be defrocked.

That is exactly my impression when I watched the video. I was sickened and could not finish watching it. Mr. Obama’s church does not reflect what Christ taught me about love and grace. One more thing, I believe his apology was a LIE. I believe this man LIED because he got caught.
There is not much difference between a mosque and a black church like Trinity United. They both promote hatred of people who are not like themselves.
I guess there isn’t a priest shortage if Pfleger can “preach” at a non-Catholic church on a Sunday. Why is a priest supporting a pro-abortion candidate anyway?
I can't stop laughing every time I see it.
The crying, the wiping of tears, it is just hilarious.
And on top of that, it hurts Obama!
Joy!
A coworker of mine says her husband is a die-hard dem and a big Hillary supporter. But he won't be voting Obama this fall. He will vote for McCain. He is really old, like 90, and he remembers some of the race riots in the past. Says that would happen again.
I am trying to understand this myself. Apparently the church membership consists of a lot of middle-class and upper-middle-class black professionals. It's very social.
I have a close friend whose family attends there. These are successful professional people who come from solid middle-class backgrounds, two-parent families, and hold advanced degrees from Ivy schools. My friend is not entirely alienated from her family because of their hostilities and resentments, but it has created increasing distance because she actually likes white people.
I can almost understand poor people being filled with resentments--the poor and unlettered have always been fertile soil for revolutions--but what the hell these educated people with six-figure incomes have to resent, I can't imagine. No door is closed to them, any more than it is to white people.
If it had been on Saturday Night Live, the guy would have been a star.
Michael Richards
apologized yesterday for using racist language in an angry exchange with an African American man at a comedy club on Friday.

you can find a similar contempt to our political enemies on this forum.
