VIDEO: Majority of Puerto Rico prison inmates vote for Hillary (translated by me)
WAPA-TV, San Juan, Puerto Rico ^

Posted on 05/30/2008 7:46:24 PM PDT by SilvieWaldorfMD

Translated by me:

- Anchorwoman says that Hillary is heavily favored by the Puerto Rico prison population, which voted in the span of the past 2 days (Thurs. & Fri.)

- Prisoners voting are dressed in grey and blue prison garb in the video.

- Prisoner #1: "Hillary gives us hope; we're going through a really bad economic crisis".

-Prisoner #2: "We need a change in life. All changes are necessary in life".

-Prisoner #3: "We're a U.S. territory and the relationship we have with the U.S. could benefit us from getting out of this economic rut".

-Prisoner #4: "We're all going through some tough times and I hope that this vote will help us a lot".

About 7,414 prison inmates on the island asked for a Democratic primary voting ballot.

I suppose they have had a lot of time to think about this decision.

The convicted vote for the unconvicted. I’m sure they’re impressed with her ability to remain at large.

How much of a “disenfranchisement” kerfluffle do you think will come from the Catholic Church not allowing their schools to be used as polling places?

I didn’t know Presidente was so popular on the Island, especially considering the fact that Ricans look at Doms the way Doms look at Haitians...

They gave her a “Presidente” beer at the bar given the significance of the word itself.... maybe it should’ve been “Presidenta”?
