CHICAGO - Sen. Barack Obama sought Thursday night to extinguish a burgeoning controversy over another Chicago minister who supports him, denouncing the comments of a Catholic priest who said “a whole lot of white people [are] crying” because a black man was within reach of the Democratic presidential nomination.
The remarks by the Rev. Michael Pfleger, a white minister known as “Chicago’s renegade priest” for his liberal social activism in the city’s black community, came from the pulpit of Trinity United Church of Christ, the same church where sermons by the Rev. Jeremiah Wright came under scrutiny from critics who called them anti-American and racially divisive.
Pfleger, pastor of predominantly black St. Sabina’s Catholic Church, who fiercely defended Wright even as Obama eventually rejected his support, sounded similar themes Sunday in a guest sermon at Wright’s church.

I wonder if Obama friends want him to lose? This priest had to know this would hurt Obama, after all the controversies on this church. why did he say what he said? Either what this priest said was deliberate or his part, or he is a very stupid guy.
None of the pastors Obama is associated with has the Spirit of God. They are purely in it for themselves and how it makes them feel. That is it.
Michelle is just upset as she knows if Barak loses the election that he will divorce her over the Video tape and then marry himself a real Blond Trophy wife.
I can’t believe this church just doesn’t tone it down a bit until the election. Don’t they realize how much they are sabatoging Obama? They are the most watched church in the U.S. now.
Can’t they talk about Jesus’ parables or something until Nov? Then they could just resume their white bashing. “Church of White Bashing. . .” truly amazing place.
Are all black Christians this way? What %? Someone reassure me that my black brothers and sisters in Christ are actually not *all* like this. . .
The odd thing is that Obama's congregation was usually referred to as the "Buppie" church.
I've noticed that when Obama wants to distance himself from the remarks of a nutball supporter, he will call the remarks "inappropriate, and worse, that "this was disrespectful to me," not that the remarks were wrong, or intrinsically evil.
Obama seems to base his determination of what is good and evil by how he personally feels, not by any objective moral law.
I can only believe that Obama has ingested the typical Harvard-educated elitist notion that he has transcended antiquated notions of morality, and that he can determine for himself what is good and what is evil. The bible has something to say about these kinds of people.

There's a third option. This priest is so self-absorbed that he can't see beyond his own nose. He's addicted to adulation. It's a pathetic characteristic, especially for a priest.

Believe it. That church is full of nothing but idiots, fools, and the brain dead. Except for Reverend Wright, of course, who made out like a bandit and is now retired to his million dollar house in a gated community on the backs of said idiots.

This priest Pfegler is a real piece of work. His obvious attempt to “sound black” to this black congregation should be taken as a racist insult. IIRC, he once made death threats to a gun shop owner who was being protested by Jesse Jackson et al for selling guns in a high-crime (read black) area. Apparently his church superiors are afraid to do anything about him, and the people of Obama’s church are prepared to overlook his patronizing attempt at black dialect.
Obama’s “church” continues to invalidate fundamental religious beliefs. These are not ministers,priest or preachers of God’s Word. Real Ministers do not use bad language, offensive statements or hatred while standing at the pulpit. The sad part, no one cares. Not even Obama, who sat there for 20 years.
If the RNC has it they will apologize for having in their possession to OsAMA and the RATS. Sorry but our party leaders don't have enough BOULDERS to use it to our advantage! WIMPS!
