Mika Brzezinski realizes that the latest looniness emanating from Barack Obama's church poses political problems for the presidential candidate. But as a person of pallor, the ever-so-PC Morning Joe-er doesn't want to judge a black churcheven when the most recent rantings come from the mouth of . . . a white preacher.
Morning Joe opened today with a clip of Father Michael Pfleger guest-preaching this past Sunday at Obama's Trinity United Church of Christ. Pfleger, a fixture on the radical Chicago scene whose endorsement of Obama until recently appeared on the official campaign website, mocked Hillary Clinton's New Hampshire tears as a sign of her frustrated sense of white entitlement. The screencap shows Pfleger making like Hillary wiping away those tears.

But while acknowledging the headache Pfleger poses for Obama, Mika was oh-so-loath to comment on the substance or tone of the remarks themselves. Excerpts from her discussion with Tucker Carlson, Mike Barnicle and Willie Geist:

I’m not entitled to my opinion, because Mika says so.
We’d be better off if this goody goody PC establishment didn’t exist. We could call things by their name.
Pfleger got the “wipe your face” thing down. He doesn’t really need to pretend to be black to make his point.
The Today show was a lot more interesting when J. Fred Muggs was on. Pfleger doesn’t cut it.
It’s an amazing video - when we see just about everyone in that “church” going nuts with joy at his remarks, standing and waving and hollering like Pfleger is the 2nd Coming, we know that all pretence by Obama that he just missed a couple of controversial sermons or remarks misses the point. It’s a nutty racist “church” full of America-hating lunatics, and Pfleger/Wright/Otis Moss, III are just playing to the crowd that Obama chose to embrace for the past 20+ years.
All pretence that the outrageous and controversial remarks by these so-called “ministers” are in any way out of the ordinary for this “church” is absurd and dishonest. This is just the pseudo-Christian offshoot of Farrakhan.
There fixed it.
No, I was right the first time. Churches that preach hatred exist. I wasn't surprised by that. I was surprised with the cursing used to bring that message.
That's another weird thing--Farrakhan is against abortion and homosexuality, but his Black chr*stian allies are for all those things, and yet they all get along swimmingly together. Meanwhile Black chr*stian leaders attack white Fundamentalists for being "homophobes."
There's even a bit of traffic between Farrakhan and these chr*stians--as chr*stians they're all pro-"gay," then they convert and want to kill them.
After four hundred years of being basically rednecks with a permanent tan, American Blacks have been picked by the liberals as the ultimate in "otherness."
Guess who is the first person listed on a committee chaired by Phleger called “Raising the Roof” for raising money to fix the roof of this idiot’s church—David Axelrod.

See this—post #69.
Also note in this article from 04 the close relationship between Obama and this guy. There is also an article somewhere about how after he disavowed Wright, Phleger was the guy who was counselling both of them.

Chicagoans familiar with this “priest” call him Father Flakey,
He really is flakey. I read somewhere today that he said that Farrakhan was a gift to humanity or some such nonsense.
Also hearing rumors that the GOP has a tape of Michelle Obama ‘preaching’ in that same church screaming: ‘Whitey’ this and ‘Whitey’ that. If this is true....Obama is toast after he is nominated.
Perhaps it’s damage control.
Amen
