This is very much the same as a lot of my own thoughts and comments. Tom DeLay's a pretty smart guy who was not just for someone else but unequivocally AGAINST John McCain in the primary.

(Sorry this is such a late posting. I just found it.)

Second, conservatives need to rally around the most conservative candidate remaining in the presidential contest, John McCain.

Hey Tom!

Don't Ask McCain

No thanks! I'll vote for Barr or Paul before I ever vote for this pitiful RINO.

Is there a more inspiring movie than Rocky?

The Godfather.

When the general election campaign begins in earnest and Clinton or Obama try to reframe their image for the American people, conservatives need to be armed with – and motivated by – the ugly truth.

Great idea but McCain is going to disavow anyone who tries it.

...conservatives need to rally around the most conservative candidate ... the fact of the matter is that he cannot defeat Clinton or Obama with conservatives grumbling on the sidelines. ... we have to go out and win it.

McCain sent the message loud and clear that he believed he could win the election without conservatives. If he expects them to all 'shut up' as he introduces liberal policy after liberal policy, he's even a bigger fool than I thought. As to "winning," there is no way to 'win' this election. Unless there is a miracle before the Republican convention, we will have a liberal whackjob as president.
