One of the jury members as much as said they didn’t convict her on the conspiracy arson charge because they felt sorry for her being a mother of a three year old and the mandatory sentence was 20 years.

Her going to trial paid off for her even though she was found guilty of lesser charges.

But now that she’s on trial, everyday she walks in with the baby attached to her like she’s mother of the year trying to gain sympthy of the judge and jury.
I’ve seen the same crap even in traffic court for speeding tickets, etc...

The researchers who could have been killed don't have kids? A mis-trial should be called.

This is one of the quotes that I found but couldn't locate the other that I remember. I don't know enough about law to know if a mis-trial could be called after the verdict is read but an anonymous juror said this.

"It's fair to say that for a lot of us, it was very emotional," said one male juror, who spoke on condition of anonymity. "I mean, here was a mom with a kid. It certainly played into the deliberations."
