The Soros-McClellan Connection
Little Green Footballs ^ | 5/28/08 | Charles Johnson

Posted on 05/28/2008 8:20:13 PM PDT by Brian Mosely

The hat tip for this post goes to LGF reader John Williams in Texas.

The company that published Scott McClellan’s new Bush-bashing book is Public Affairs Books, and their Editor at Large is a guy named Peter Osnos: About The Century Foundation.

The owner of Public Affairs Books is a company called Perseus Book Group. Here’s their ownership tree: Perseus Books Home.

The firm is owned by Perseus Funds Group, (holding company Perseus LLC) a capital management firm that grew from about $20 million in 1995 to over $2 billion now. Big infusions of cash seemed to help it grow exponentially and it closed funds almost as fast as it opened them. The board has tons of liberals from the Clinton and Carter Administrations with credentials that almost put Osnos’ to shame as far as far left causes go. Their website is here: PERSEUS - merchant bank and private equity fund management.

If you go to the New York Department of State web site and enter “Perseus” in the “Business Organization” search, you get this on page 2 of the results:

Unfortunately, Mr. Bush himself is the biggest closed liberal on his staff, so why not have like minded buddies on with him?

Most did it because the 'Rats had moved too far to the left. So one shouldn't be too quick to insult an individual because he or she converted to the GOP.

I question Carol Keeton McClellan Rylander Strayhorn's conversion to the GOP. CKMRS was/is an opportunist who later changed to "Independent" to serve her own selfish purpose. I have no use or respect for "One Tough Grandma."

Why should anybody expect loyalty from her son?

His mother is an unprincipled political whore who switches parties (and husbands) like the change in the wind. Starting out as a liberal rodent Mayor of Austin, Carole Stewart Keeton McClellan Rylander Strayhorn then moved over to the GOP to try to win more offices, first Congress, then TX Railroad Commissioner (where she claimed to discover Conservatism), then over to Comptroller, and then going RINO again and deciding to run for Governor as a liberal alternative to the current incumbent. Junior only got his job because of his mama, and you can see how the little ingrate repaid his betters.

Maybe McClellan never quite felt like part of the "in crowd"

He is in the "in crowd" for now.

But I suspect you are on the right track. A lot more folks than most would care to admit can have their outlook shaped by the apparent expectation of peers. And McClellan certainly never struck me as being self-assured. So yes, it was probably more than just the money.

Why Scott McClellan was ever chosen for Press Secretary in the first place, was always a wonder to me.

Same here. Bush seems to be a bit too tolerant of poor job performance. I think this attitude really hurt his administration.

Please can the McCain haters take a night off from spreading there lies.

I don't hate McCain but the facts are the facts.
We're living in a new age and you just can't hide that stuff anymore.
Republicans win by supporting limited government. If I want big government I'll vote Democrat. If Republicans want my vote they need to return to the limited government message.

The only thing the third party wack jobs have done is insure that Obama will win.

Why have so many abandoned the RP?
Don't blame third party whack jobs. You fellas chased libertarians from the party and Republicans can't win a national election without the libertarian vote.

*Why have so many abandoned the RP?*

Because some are all or nothing folks.
Some folks live a sheltered, homogenous life
and no understanding of the real world.

I am a Reagan Republican also live in a large city.
I have relatives in Iraq and Afgan and relatives who have served as far back as the Revolutionary war and earlier.

McCain not my first choice, I supported Duncan Hunter.
Between McCain and Marxist Obama, McCain has a clue who
the enemy is and his son has served in Iraq and will be going back.

McCain is pro life and for the second amendment.
No third party will win only insure that Marxist Obama will win.

Third party candidates mostly seem to have not served in combat. Also have not shed their 3 year old tantrum stage of laying down and kicking their heels in the ground

McClellan has been out of work for a couple of years as well. More than enough time to feel "left out". Rain-checks for lunch not becoming a reality.

Why has the guy been unemployed for so long? Think he had any job offers? Usually a network will usually snatch up a guy in that position. He doesn't play well on camera? ZZZZZZZ!

Notice how there is no real change of expression when interviewed. No emotions shown even when it is suggested he was "out of the loop" or "showed lack of courage in his convictions" by the liberal media (CBS). Course he did blame the liberal media for not doing enough--that was an odd comment as well.

Now he gets only "pity" from his ex coworkers. They never saw it coming, as McClellan seems void of personality ..always apathetic now on camera.

The media, especially CBS, was stung by Rather, so probably why tip toeing around McClellan.

Everyone who worked with him seems to just feel sorry for the guy. Even the candidates have, so far, kept their distance. Hope he is not a danger.

The President has been up against far worse and survived!

I remember reading Buzz Patterson's first book after leaving Clinton (carried the nuclear suitcase)..and the Clintons never acknowledged or disputed what Buzz had written. However, Patterson was a real insider and eyewitness beside Clinton everyday-the BIG diff.

Boortz did bring up the Soros connection the other day, after this story was posted. Only one I heard do so-but can't listen 24/7.

*Why have so many abandoned the RP?*

Because the Leaders within the Republican Party has not listened to its supporters who know the meaning of Conservative. Not listening to or turning a deaf ear to issues of great importance; so conservative voters flood the White House with phone calls and e-mails causing an over-surge and disruption in government telecommunications.

When solicitors for RNC call for donations even they agree “McCain” was not OUR choice.. that the other candidates (my interpretation) folded up like cheap linen suits and too easily made way for McCain.

Hate to say this, but Hillary Clinton has more brass ones fighting Obama and the Media turncoats..course she very well might fall to likes of Sisyphus. But had least she can say he traveled higher up the mountain than the Republican candidates who already seem so Past History.

Because some are all or nothing folks.
lol...
We have not asked for all and you have given us nothing.
Libertarians joined with Republicans to win the Cold War. We were promised limited government reforms. The Cold War is over. You have not kept your promise of limited government reforms.

I am a Reagan Republican also live in a large city.
I am a Goldwater Republican and live in the country.

Some folks live a sheltered, homogenous life and no understanding of the real world.
In the real world you lose your supporters when you break your promises.

I have relatives in Iraq and Afgan and relatives who have served as far back as the Revolutionary war and earlier.
So do I and that only proves that the best of us are in the ground.

No third party will win only insure that Marxist Obama will win.
Republicans have insured that Obama will win. You refuse to run a candidate that limited government supporters will vote for.

It was of those Republicans reach across the aisle deals, an errand mostly unspoiled by success. 99.9999% of the time we get only a kick in the teeth for our troubles.

Since you didn’t read my tag line, my candidate was the adult conservative, Viet nam war vet, most experienced on national security and border issues 27yrs + in Congress.
His son a Marine Capt. 3 tours in current war.

Since some folks didn’t want the adult conservative, Duncan Hunter, we have what we have.

Since the third party folks use their third party as a cover to see that Obama is elected as they are both anti war, you need to tend to your own problems.
