The earlier derailment is now believed to be caused by a motorman/woman blowing through a signal and trying to force the train after the automatic system brought it to a halt. I wonder if human error struck twice today.

Some unusual problems on the Dallas system today, as well. Looked like some signal malfunctions this evening, and a major delay on the system this morning.

Was the operator drunk?

No idea what the cause was, but the pictures are pretty bad. Being this was rush hour, it could have been a lot worse.

Not in the pictures, all the mansions surrounding the crash site! Newton is quite a wealthy town, you can bet this will be cleaned up very quickly.

Haven't heard that, not even sure if the female operator was gotten out yet. The other operator apparently was not seriously injured.

Pesaturo says a 2-car outbound Green Line train slammed into the rear with another 2-car train that had just begun to move after stopping at a red signal near the station.

Pesaturo said efforts were underway to free the operator of the second train, who he said appeared to have suffered very serious injuries in the crash.

"Not in the pictures, all the mansions surrounding the crash site! Newton is quite a wealthy town, you can bet this will be cleaned up very quickly."

Years ago Newton was the third wealthiest community in the nation, after Beverly Hills and Greenwich, Ct. or so I heard.

Don't know if that is so anymore, but I do know that I have used that trolley line, and the houses along the tracks should scarcely be referred to as "mansions."

If the woman driver is the same one who drove the cars that I rode last year then she might be a heavyset black woman who in my opinion seemed to have a serious lack of interest in her occupation. I could be wrong about that as well.

We shall see.

When they had the camera moving around to the immediate area, it could have been houses from the Kennedy estates in Hyannis port. No that that has anything to do with the story, just something I noted.

Hubby was on the T to go to a Red Sox World Series game last fall. And he said it was packed that day. He doesn't recall who was driving since he was in the last car.

"Is this her:"

No!

I have not been on that line in more than a year.

Clearly the 6 month Driver was not on the trolley that I was on for a few regular days last year.

I was on the T once when the driver was so bad I decided to get off at the next stop. Before I could get off the driver slammed on the brakes injuring two passengers. One of them I helped off the train. She ended up in intensive care at Mass General for four days. Yes, she took them to court and won. The T will not settle.

"...The T will not settle."

Why should they be concerned with settlements?

It is not as if they are dealing with their own $$$$.
