Former Press Secretary Scott McClellan turns against Bush
Los Angeles Times

Posted on 05/28/2008 4:48:04 AM PDT by kelsiejackson

On accepting Scott McClellan's resignation as his press secretary two years ago, President Bush predicted that he and the outgoing aide some day would be "rocking in chairs in Texas and talking about the good old days."

But maybe their days in the White House together weren't so happy after all.

Next week will bring the publication of McClellan's 341-page tome, "What Happened: Inside the Bush White House and Washington's Culture of Deception." It is described by Politico's Mike Allen as "surprisingly scathing."

Sorry, that wasn’t obvious to me, I didn’t see the sarcasm... :)

"Isn't it amazing how quickly everyone can turn against you?"

Can turn on a dime for sure; better; and more certain; they can turn on a 'book deal' - worth more than a dime.

Bottom line, McClellan is a twit and a traitor to the truth. Never cared for him; and now I know why.

Sadly, loyalty and honor is an ancient relic.

This loser is sore because he was finally fired from a job he never should have had in the first place.

His mama, the much-married “Grandma” Carol Keeton Brown Strayhorn who runs for Gov. of TX every four years, probably got him the job as Bush’s press secretary through her political connections.

Now, under-talented as he is, he needs cash, so he waited to release his bomb until an election year, knowing the msm will promo his book for him because it is anti-Bush.

It’s disgusting to see someone cashing in on bashing the President.

If McClellan had issues with Bush’s character and character, he could have spoken out and resigned.

Another case of misguided loyalty by the President to an unworthy team member.

I wonder how much Bush made him privy to.

SOLUTION: No books from WH employees until at least 4 years after the term ends.

I know you’re joking but there is truth to it. Bush prides himself on his bipartisanship, maybe he should’ve looked for loyalists and ruling with authority. I’ve lost “almost” all respect for him.

...Scott McClellan turns against Bush...

That's putting it mildly.

How many days did we all sit and listen to this pathetic, incompetent, bumbler hoping against hope that GWB was also listening and watching his performance before the nation’s TV cameras and would immediately come to conclusion that McClellan should be canned. This failure of Bush to recognize the failings of those who he placed in charge of explaining and propounding conservative positions led me to lose all hope in his presidency. Those that think that his presidency was filled with accomplishments will have ample opportunity to look back with regret one year hence.

Everything that was accomplished will be undone because of the careless administration by those he chose to run the government. The administration of the war, the economy, the failure to forcefully pursue a energy policy and the resulting energy shortage and inflation will undoubtedly lead to the undoing of any good he accomplished.

My comment was in reference to the statement saying that he was the “most inept Press secretary of all time,” not that he was the most disloyal, false, false-hearted, perfidious, recreant, treacherous, unfaithful, untrue, traitorous, Press secretary of all time.

All those who might have written a “tell all” book regarding the Clinton Admin died mysteriously.

Why didn’t McClellan have the b@@@s to do all this crapping on the President when he first took the job of press secretary?

Rotten turncoat.

"That name was tarnished completely after Chancellorsville!"

Hooker was in command of Union troops at Chancellorsville. He got whacked in the head by a collpsing beam at his HQ early in the battle, and wasn't worth much after that. McClellan had plenty of screw-ups, though, including letting Lee get away after Antietam.

"Is it interesting that we don’t find any tell all books about the Clinton administration? The people that worked for them are true loyalists. I just don’t understand it."

FBI files and Arkancide.
